Dr. Glenn M Kaplan, PhD

Warning - do not work with this quack. Took me 4 attempts leaving mssgs to set up an appt with Kaplan. I was recommended to him by my Pain Dr to get a Psych Eval for surgery. He sent me an eval form to fill out and took 3 attempts sending it to him before receiving. The phone call I then received from him took 10 min to review my evail and then he charged me $450 for 10 min of work. He is impersonal and uncaring - AVOID!!

I was assigned to see Dr. Kaplan before I could receive back surgery to make sure that my pain was "real". Dr. Kaplan specializes in bariatric surgery patients so it didn't make sense in my mind but I went anyway. The visit was standard and I got my approval. This was in 2016. I recently received a letter that stated that due to issues with my insurance company, my paperwork was not processed until now and that I owed a small $200 balance. I called the front desk, I believer her name was Robin who took my credit card and ran the charge. I received a call back that the card did not go through and it took me a week or so to call again. Robin was extremely rude over the phone, threatening to send me to collections if I didn't take care of this payment. I gave her the same card number as it was working on other charges. I did not hear anything back from Robin and assumed the payment went through. Now, a month later, I have a letter from a collection agency for the amount that I owe. A… simple follow up call, as is her job responsibility, could of have taken care of the issue. Instead, she chose the easy way by sending me to collections, hurting my credit and basically wasting my time trying to clear up the matter. This is a psychology office, shouldn't their staff have a little patience and compassion? And, why wait four years to collect this payment and then send me to collections in the span of a month? Dr. Kaplan may be a good psychologist but his staff leaves much to be desired.
