Dr. Gloria Chen Hakkarainen, MD

Had my initial visit with Dr. H a few months ago and after having a horrible experience with my previous OB/Gyn who mixed up my medical records with someone else, I was very skeptical. As a self pay patient, I was happy to get a good amount of time with her and she was very informative, almost overwhelming with her recommendations but I appreciated it and felt comfortable. I found the laser skin facility was reasonable for getting bloodwork done as well. I do feel that offices in general, including this one, should offer to waive the consultation fee for self payers and just charge an office visit. $300 seems high but most offices are $275+ in this area. My first impression, so far, is good but we will see how things progress. Thank you for all the reviews, it is helpful.

I can't believe some of the reviews Dr H has always spent time explaining and is very thorough I've benn with her 51/2 years I think her and her office are great

You took the time to listen to my symptoms of hot flashes & terrible symptoms, then did an extensive panel of blood work & prescribed bio-identical for me. I feel like I’m 25 again! You saved my marriage too! For those who have written that she’s all about herself, Dr H. Is a walking encyclopedia, you may not care for her plethora of information that she rattles off to you at your visit, but she knows how to treat your symptoms if you work with her too.

I’m a patient for over five years. Dr H is good however her office staff chips away at the integrity of the medical field. I will be looking for s new GYNO because EVERY single time I need to renew my prescription in those past five years it takes Ober a eeek this time I’m going on a month. No communication, no call back to me or the pharmacy. When I do get through at her office it’s to a clueless nurse or inefficient secretary. TOTAL lack of concern or sense of urgency. Which sucks because it’s for HRT. So I now have the flashes back wake up all night etc.No call back from office. Was on hold today till they transferred my call to another patient! Still have not returned any calls back to pharmacy. They have been trying to contact them for eeeks too. Unbelievable!!!

I went to see her and I ended up crying after the visit. She doesn't listen to you at all it's like she just don't care. I tried to talk to her about 4 times and she gave me 0 attention. The waiting time was 37 minutes and she only saw me for 3 mins and send me the prescriptions with the nurse. Never came back to the room or asked if I had any question. There was no explanation what was going on with me nor follow visit. I was heart broken and depressed after seeing her. WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY

worst obgyn went to in my life ask question she said google it it took me longer to take off my cloth than her examination not recommend her - she also sends you to other service for cash

I chose Hakkarainen because some of my friends went to her and I was not happy with current GYN. I do like her as a doctor. She is quick on annual, thorough and easy to talk to. But the staff is going downhill. Over the past year I've never gotten in to an appointment on time (I go for a depo shot every 3 months but don't see the doctor just physician assistant or nurse). I typically schedule in morning but even in afternoon they are behind. It wasn't always like that. My friends and I have all been noticing this. Today I was irritated because I could even hear them in the back talking and laughing so I walked back there and asked how much longer they would be. My appointment was at 9:00am, they finally brought me to a room at 9:19am (and the PA or nurse wasn't even prepared for the shot so I waited in the room for a few minutes while she went to get the bandaid and alcohol swab).

Poor follow up to furnish medical records.

terrible does not spent more then 5 min with patient, does not provide answers or solutions( on HRT and have been bleeding for over a month) I have to agree with most of the reviews here

I agree with the last two reports, she doesn't spend enough time listening to you, she loves the sound of her own voice. Arrogant doctor. Never going back!!
