Ms. Monasmith, LCSW, has worked in Social Work since 2000 and as a licensed therapist since 2008, and has extensive experience in treating children, adolescents, adults. She actively promotes community wellness through a focus on addictions, trauma, and grief counseling. Ms. Monasmith offers individual or group counseling services for those 9 years old and older. What is your patient care philosophy? Everyone deserve to be educated and empowered to make the decisions that they believe work best for their life. I work diligently with my clients to help them see their strengths and use them to address the challenges they want to address. Why did you decide to become a social worker? I knew that I would spend my life helping people since I was 12 years old. What do you enjoy most about working with patients? I love to see the moments when the “light bulb” goes off in a client and they realize something new and powerful about themselves. How does your work improve lives? I …believe people are happier when they realize they have control over their lives, and my work with people helps them take concrete steps to find that control. What are some interesting facts about you? I am a singer and a DJ, frequently performing in the area. With what community and volunteer organizations are you involved? I am the founder of Woman, ROCK!, a women’s social empowerment group and a member of the Just Cares Board.
