Dr. Grace Gibbes Evins, MD

I reviewed her a year ago on her profile Grace Evins Google, BCBS, and several other place. Not sure how I missed this profile, but still feel strong enough about my experience to copy my previous review here. I saw Dr. Evins several months ago. The reason for the review delay is I have been in the process of moving here. This doctor was such a *FAIL*, months later I still felt the need to write a review. Both reasons for the appt were discussed while confirming BCBS provider and making appt. On the day of my appt, I arrived 15 minutes early and waited 45 minutes past my appt time and still had not been seen. I had another scheduled appt at a location 30 minutes away, so I had to reschedule. During this appt, the secretary was babysitting the dr's child who was out of control at the front desk. The child demanded the secretary look up crazy stuff on the computer and for some reason he was messing with the phone. The phone rang once after he was finished playing… with it, however, the secretary could not hear the person on the other end and the phone never rang again. The phone was still not working when I left. Second appt--I again arrived 15 minutes early (I even called and confirmed she was on time) and was finally seen 30 minutes past the designated time. When the dr finally came in, no apology or acknowledgement of her tardiness. She finally asked me if there was a problem and I told her I was not happy with the amount of time I had spent waiting on her for both appts. She said something about she spent time with her patients based on their needs etc. She didn't want to do the exam (which she finally did) and she told me I would need to schedule yet another appt at $400+ to discuss the second purpose of the appt. She is a BCBS provider so there should have been no out of pocket expense except the office visit. This dr was cold and paid no attention to *my* needs (Why make appts if she doesn't adhere to the schedule? She doesn't deliver babies so she has control). I would *never* recommend her.

Always am given all the time I need to talk and ask questions. Dr Evins is totally concerned about all your health issues and gives wonderful feedback to any question I ask. I can’t recommend her enough!

I've been seeing Dr. Grace for over 15 years, and now travel 45 minutes to keep her as my GYN. She's a very good listener, and has addressed all my concerns, both small and big, with compassion, thoughtfulness, and effectiveness. She is on the quiet side, and does not offer unsolicited advice as a rule. She willingly considers/offers solutions "outside the box", but never pushes. She also has very gentle hands - exams are very easy with her. Some of her staff have been with her since before I started seeing her, and they are also compassionate and effective. I trust Dr. Grace completely, and have recommended her to at least two people who have loved her and continue to see her.

Dr. Evins is knowledgeable and I feel genuinely cares about her patients. She is office based therefore I feel is able to spend more than the average amount of time with her patients as she does not have to run off to the hospital to do deliveries. I would highly recommend her to friends and family members.

She always asks about my family and genuinely cares about me.

Dr. Evins has been my gynecologist for years. I love that she is now branching out and developing an interest in integrative medicine. She is concerned with me and my health as a whole person, not just a set of lab results. I am now menopausal and the bio-identical hormones she prescribed have made me feel so much better. The only complaint I have is that the time spent in the waiting room can be quite long, but it's worth it because when I see her she listens and doesn't make me feel rushed. She is a gem of a physician and I've recommended her to several people. Her nurse is also fantastic.

She is a great Doctor who cares about her patients care.

Dr. Evins is probably one of the most despicable medical professionals I have ever come in contact with. I had a miscarriage early in my second trimester. After an ultrasound, I was given the choice of giving birth or having a D&C performed. I decided on giving birth and was scheduled to go in the next morning. That evening at 5:29pm, Dr Evins had the secretary call me to inform me that she would be performing the D&C and that I was no longer given the option of having the birth. I was taken aback by this change and cancelled my appt in the morning until I spoke with Dr. Evins. She finally called the next morning. When I said I wanted to give birth, she told me, "The fetus will not look like you think it will." When I raised concerns about the D&C procedure, she became defensive about her abilities as a care provider. When I said I was concerned about how she changed the procedure on me without speaking with me - she actually YELLED at me. Who yells at a woman who just lost her… baby??!! She told me, "I have a life of my own, you know and other patients to handle right now....you are lucky I was able to give you this call int he first place." Finally she said that if I wanted to give birth to my child, that I would have to wait until another doctor came on call.I could go on and on about this terrible experience with her. She is the most insensitive and pompous human being. I hope I never come in contact with her again.
