Dr. Gregg M Anigian, MD

This year I had a bilateral mastectomy with immediate DIEP reconstruction. Dr. Anigian came highly recommended by my oncology surgeon. My surgery was a success and I am so thankful for Dr. Anigian’s skillful hands. It is true Dr. Anigian is not much on words, but his nurse Ruth will patiently answer any and all questions. Honestly, the proof is in his hands not the explanation (for me). I highly, highly recommend Dr. Anigian.

Dr. Anigian has a nice bedside manner, but fails in overall communication. I also feel like he made decisions based on what he would earn and ego. These decisions did not serve me well.

Dr. Anigian is a very professional and compassionate physician; I'm happy he was my surgeon since I'm very scared of surgeries. I had an issue on the scalp which I had postponed for years hoping -- against many doctors' advice -- that it'd go away by itself just if I did dieting (I'm one of those persons who believe weight loss is good for health and can solve many women's problems); but I finally considered surgery. Luckily, I recently found Dr. Anigian: he easily and painlessly eliminated it in less than 1 hour. His office environment is very comfortable and the staff was very nice, too, at all times. Also, I found his fees to be relatively affordable. Highly recommended.

I am a breast cancer survivor and I went to Dr Anigian to help with what the effects of radiation has done to my affected breast. The appointment became about my weight and not what is wrong with my breast which he says cannot be fixed. I find this hard to believe that you can not make my breast the same size pretty sure this surgery is done every day. I don't think he has any idea how hard it is to go back into a plastic surgeons office after all you have been through with cancer, the surgery and the following treatment. And then he sits there and talks about your weight the whole time....ummm I know I am fat didn't need him to tell me that and then charge me for it.

Dr. Anigian does not care about breast cancer patients. After two failed attempts, his comment was "I tried my best". I question his skills and knowledge, however, there is no doubt about his greed. He insisted on payment up front for the other breast to match the reconstructed breast, telling me Medicare would not pay. Vulnerable at the time, I did pay. Later I insisted on a medicare claim. It was covered. His Practice Manager had to send me a refund. If you are a breast cancer patient, I recommend you avoid this man and look for another doctor who can show some compassion. He is cold and lacks communication skills. MB

I visited his office today after waiting more than a month to see him. Waited for one hour while four people that came after me were seen. Then, he ran out of time to address the issue I came in to see him for. His office manager didn’t have the time to print out the cost of the operation and with a dismissal which I have never experienced in any doctor’s office across all disciplines. I wonder what his reaction would have been had it been his sister, mom or even a friend. A doctor’s office with little respect for patients and the ability to ascertain whether a patient can make payments directly out of pocket telepathically. They apparently assumed that I am not capable of paying so they set off a chain of events. I can promise you that I have more than the capacity to pay had Medicare rejected my request. Moreover, if your policies are ones that prejudge others based on their use of Medicare which I paid for through my working life; then your office should have declined… the appointment in the first place. Brutal reminder that human beings are unkind, judgmental and worse destructive to the meaning of our purpose.

This man cares only about the individuals walking into his office for an elective procedure. When you have cancer this man is cold and callous. His bedside manner is atrocious. His trademark phrase is "you're a 200 pound woman in a 120 pound frame." Run away from this man. I didn't walk into his office because I wanted him to change my body. I walked into his office because I needed him to perform reconstructive surgery following a breast cancer diagnosis. I left that office feeling belittled and degraded. No one facing cancer should be made to feel anymore emotional than we already do. I am absolutely disgusted that this man speaks to patients the way he spoke to me, and at least three other cancer patients that I know personally. Seek out alternative doctors because this man will not care about you at all!

You're 60 and you've been diagnosed with breast cancer. This is the scariest moment in your life, not just for yourself, but also for your disabled son who relies on you. You're facing a double mastectomy, and the first words you hear are: "you're a 200-lb. woman on a 120-lb. frame." The "doctor" is cold, uncaring, and doesn't seem to realize that you're not here because you want to be. He keeps commenting on your weight, and not just to inform you of medical considerations. He can't seem to talk about anything else. Somehow, he doesn't get that what you want isn't perky boobs. You want dignity and some compassion as you face a life-threatening disease and the required reconstructive surgery. If you're hoping for compassion or, heck, just some basic human decency, look elsewhere: even the staff don't comfort you when you leave in tears. This is how he treated my mother, so avoid his crass, insensitive practice like the plague it is.
