Dr. John Anthony Sklar, MD

I saw Dr. Sklar for an MMI as the state appointed doctor, when the insurance disputed my original certification. The doctor spent very little time with me. The time he did spend with me did not include a true exam. He used no instruments to measure my range of motion. He estimated my impairment from his chair, that he never left. It seemed like Dr. Sklar had decided, before I entered the room, what my rating would be and that measurements were not important. He also wasn't interested in my history or records. He rated me a zero percent impairment and stated that none of my injuries were work-related despite a clear fall at work that caused the damage. It felt like the rating was determine ahead of time and all other requirements adjusted to fit that narrative. After two years and four surgeries, this doctor has completely made a mess of my case and rightful compensation. This doctor is biased against the worker and likely on the insurance payroll. If you can avoid seeing him, do… so.

This doctor completely messed my husband over. My first clue that something was amiss, was that I was not allowed in the room. There was enough room for me to stand so I could have been in the room. Because I was not able to be in there, there was no witness to the bad doctoring that further injured my husband. The second clue that something was not right was that the MMI rating took very little time. When I asked how he got examined in that short amount of time, my husband told me that the doctor never left his chair and never measured his range of motion. The MMI rating he gave was zero percent. He even said my husband's injuries were not work related. His bias is clear in his report. Now my husband has been further injured in many ways by having to battle for his rightful benefits and care. We will be filing a complaint. Worker beware - this doctor is not for you and will not be fair to you.

This guy should not be a doctor. Sklar was an hour late for my appointment. Walked in looking like he worked in an automotive shop. His attire was dirty and wrinkled. With all of the kickbacks he receives you would think he owns an iron. After less than 13 minutes, he said that’s it. I have RSD and I have seen some of the best specialists in Texas. I was clearly in pain the day of my appointment and he reported that I’m fine after stating how limited my range of motion is and the visible swelling that was present. Yes, I will be calling you first thing in the morning. Guys like this have to be stopped!! Thank you to everyone who posted their experience with this creepy dude.

This man gave me a 0 percent rating after talking to me from his chair. He never did a exam of any kind. He did manage to let me know he worked for the state, that should of let me know right then I would not be treated fairly. Truly not for the patient and their health.

An 8 minute exam that defied what 6 other specialists had recommended, and without even getting off of his roll around stool. This exam made it obvious to me how truly this workers comp system can be rigged towards the insurance companies’ interest. When speaking to my doc, who happens to have over 30 years experience as a ortho surgeon/ specialist, he says this guy is a jerk and will take the insurance company’s side no matter what. This was the first time I had ever heard a dr. Criticize a fellow colleague, so that tells me how bad this guy must be. To top things off, he noted the wrong side foot on his report! I refuse to believe that our government would allow someone so unprofessional to do these exams, but then again I realize that money can buy a lot of things in this world, and apparently a doctor’s ethics are on the dollar menu.

This doctor is one of the worst doctors I have ever visited in 10 minutes in his office he was able to come to a conclusion dating back a year ago when I was injured with nothing more than watching me walk 5 ft across the floor and rubbing on my legs if I could give less than 1 star rating I would I would not go back to this doctor if I had the choice of him or witch doctor. And if I could give less than 1 * I would.

Worst experience I have ever had. Did an impairment rating on me with no examination whatsoever. He should not even be permitted to have a license to practice medicine. If I could rate lower than one star, I would rate at least a -25!!!! Awful to have DOCTOR associated with this guys name!!!!!

He sent an impairment in of a 0 percent after telling me he could not do a rating on me because he was not an expert in breast matters. How totally crooked
