TREATMENT There are generally two medical classes in America. Those that treat symptoms with pharmaceutical and surgical hammers. And those that delve deep to treat underlying conditions and less commonly understood causes of symptomatic disorders. In the former falls the majority of M.D.'s and Specialists in Oklahoma. In the latter falls some D.O.'s, holistic practitioners, naturopaths, and "alternative medicine" practitioners. Dr. Govett does an effective job of the standard medical practice of an MD, while still integrating some of the tried, tested and researched approaches of alternative medicine practitioners. Basically he blends the line well. He treats various environmental illness disorders including food and airborne allergies, chemical exposure, heavy metal toxicity, multiple chemical sensitivity, mold exposure, fungal and mycotoxin illness, and pesticide exposure. He does not just throw different medicines at the problem, but instead incorporates new… treatments and research into the roots of environmental illness. But it is based on testing for issues and treatments that have proven effectiveness. Pharmaceutical based, supplementary and other. That is not always achieved in the alternative medicine field. To give you an example, 30 or 40 years ago, if you talked to your average M.D. or Specialist about gut flora, probiotics, fungal infections, and digestive dysbiosis they would have referred you to a psychiatrist. Trust me I know. You would have had to go to an alternative medicine practitioner to get treatment, and that didn't always work. Now things like probiotics, and herbal and vitamin supplements for digestive disorders are commonly prescribed by M.D.'s. It is because of doctors like Govett that some people made it through the 80s and 90s and 2000s. And why more will in the future. He is also friendly and genial, and while eccentric in demeanor is very knowledgable and comprehensive in process. STAFF I do not know their names, but at this time there are two. The younger female staff member is nice, helpful and knowledgeable about procedures. The middle aged female staff member, who books most of the appointments is full of hate. There is no way around it. She may not even be aware of how patients feel interacting with her, but through non-verbal cues, tone, and body language she will make it known to you that you are not welcome. Be strong though. Tough through her spite and you will be glad you did. ENVIRONMENT The office is clean and tidy with plenty of parking. COST Dr. Govett will bill to insurance when available but will try and provide affordable workarounds for expensive testing and treatment when insurance will not cover it.
