Dr. John Mark Gilchrist, MD

I saw this doctor twice, the last time I went to his office, his staff was rude, unprofessional, and unethical, they treated me as a low-class person, and they are racist, I have an accent, but I have been in this country for 40 years, I am a USA citizen, and I am educated with a bachelor's degree. I have worked in the medical field for 7 years, and I cared for the patients I had to help admit. I saw Dr. John Gilchrist by the end of last year because I was having ringing in my ear, and pain all around my ear, he referred me to a Rheumatologist, I don't know why, I told him, I do not have rheumatoid arthritis, I had testing done, I just have arthritis, but he insisted. I went to pick up my records a month ago, and I notice the mistake, he wrote down on the visit report that I went to see him for sinus problems. I told the receptionist that it needed to be corrected because I need to take Dr. Gilchrist's report to a Neurologist. She started arguing with me, she told me that the Dr. won't… change anything. I upset. I later asked my husband to call the office manager, she told my husband she will investigate, 3 weeks later and she never called back. My husband just called yesterday the office manager, and she said, the doctor refuses to make any changes, even though he knows he made a mistake, (HE IS CORRUPTED) and gave no reason why he won't change it. This is a very unprofessional office. I will not recommend this doctor, and his nurse is even worse. I will file a complaint with the state. He has no manners, he is arrogant, racist, and rude, and his nurse and office staff are the same.

Doesn’t listen to his patients. He blew off my symptoms for many months with no treatment and missed seeing a lesion in my mouth that I found myself 3 weeks after seeing him. He also referred me to the wrong doctor ($300 later) for a biopsy. The doctor he referred me to said an ENT should be the one to biopsy it. This was obviously very frustrating. He won’t own up to missing anything (or referring me to the wrong doctor) and now he won’t even see me back again!! I have never heard of a doctor refusing to see a patient who is in pain and has a concerning lesion! And now I can’t get into another doctor for a month and a half. If he really cared he would try to call around to get me in somewhere sooner than that. I am now back to square one looking for a new doctor and having to be my own health advocate. Do not go see this doctor!!

Dr. Gilchrist has helped me so much to manage my sinus problems. He knows exactly what to do to fix it. Would recommend him to anyone! Don't wait another minute!!!

Dr. didn't wash hands before giving me my examination. Cleanliness of instruments gave me some concerns.

I saw Dr. Gilchrist for a chronic sinus infection, and consequentially had surgery to repair a deviated septum. He was very attentive during the process. He explained everything to me in a manner that made me feel very comfortable and educated about the procedure. My only complaint is about his office staff. It is somewhat difficult to get a returned call from them, and they transfer calls to a voice mail box with a message that states that the box is never checked, and not to leave a message. Aside from that, the experience was perfect, and I highly recommend him.

Dr. Gilchrist was wonderful with my 8 year old daughter. He put her right at ease and made her feel very safe and comfortable! The though of a tonsilectomy is high stress and she is not ready to go! I'll rate again after the procedure but I feel completely comfortable with him performing it. He even offered to speak with my husband (who couldn't come to the initial appointment) on the phone so that he would understand the procedures and ask any questions.
