I know this review will not affect this man's career or personal life. Especially on the eve of his retirement, which he had failed to mention himself during visits but rather heard through multiple third parties, including fellow oncologists. But on the off chance some poor soul should happen upon this person and this review before he enjoys whatever he has planned for himself, please go elsewhere.
This man genuinely does not care if you have terminal cancer or otherwise. If you have side effects from the prescribed chemo, don't even bother mentioning it to him because he's too busy and irritated to alleviate your suffering. Important details will not be provided unless asked directly. Who, in this time of sorrow, can think of and ask every question necessary to beat/cope with a disease one knows not of?? We certainly didn’t go to school for it or have experience treating patients for it. A doctor, of any kind, should be able to provide their patients the information they need… to consider the options that they have. A person who does not willingly provide important information, or suggest treatment tailored to a patient's situation, but instead gives flippant answers to questions and a ‘one size fits all’ treatment plan is no doctor at all. We might as well just carry around a medical book tabbed according to illness and jump to the corresponding page should we experience one. Then we could go to designated place, push a button, and our meds will come out like a candy bar in a vending machine… maybe when you have cancer, there would be a separate machine and you get the standard IV bag per ‘the instructions’.
I am saddened that not more was done for my loved one. During this journey, we never really found a good doctor, but the above review is true for this doctor, in this experience. I hope you choose wisely and I wish all the best.
