Dr Ford uses a method that doesn’t require a cut through all the muscles in the buttocks! I was pretty ambulatory by the end of a week! We also love Dr Ford’s bedside manner and all of his support staff!

I can't comment on Dr. Ford's surgical abilities, because I never got that far. PROSPECTIVE PATIENTS SHOULD BE AWARE THAT HE DOES NOT ACCEPT THOSE WHO ARE OVER A CERTAIN BMI. I wish I'd known that before I went in for an initial evaluation. At my first appointment, I was turned away and told to reschedule because I was a few minutes late, even though I had driven 50 miles from another town to get there. The next time I arrived 1/2 hour early and was allowed to see the P.A., not Dr Ford himself. The P.A.'s evaluation, though thorough (too thorough, given the degree of damage to my hip), caused me extreme pain which has continued to worsen ever since. After all that, I was told that I had to lose weight and do physical therapy before they would consider me for surgery. (I was later advised against physical therapy by another surgeon due to the advanced deterioration of my hip joint.) In my opinion, both examination and treatment suggestions should be individualized according to the… patient's condition and situation. I do not feel like that is what I experienced at Dr. Ford's office. They had a set way of doing things, and they were not willing to alter their procedures. I do NOT know that the evaluation was the cause of my increasing pain and disability. But I do know that I entered Dr. Ford's office using a walker, and 6 weeks later I'm in a wheelchair.
