I am one lucky woman. No, I didn't hit the lottery...instead I found an incredible surgeon who performed a serious surgery on me last month. Knowing I would need an experienced colorectal surgeon I reached out to friends and medical professionals for a recommendation. I decided on Dr. Gallina after 2 people recommended him. After seeing two doctors in central Jersey because I felt/was blocked, I was still uneasy with the recommended procedure and wanted to see a doctor from north Jersey. Dr. Gallina was recommended. I was referred by my doctor to Dr. Gallina for colostomy design and then reversal. It was a frightening situation that no one can ever be prepared for. He made it unscary and straightforward. He communicated clearly at each step what was going to happen and risks. He answered all of my questions. He and his staff both in the office and hospital were always available to advise me during recovery. His surgical skills are technically amazing , but what makes him even more remarkable especially among brilliant surgeons is his understanding of the patient's need for effective communication to recover. When you are sick, you may not feel lucky. But when you then meet a Dr. Gallina, you know you are lucky!

Dr. Gallina was my Rx. for many years; he is simply one of the best in his field. He is a wonderful person who always made me feel at ease during an exam that could be anything but easy or nice. His personable manner and sense of humor is truly a gift in this line of medical practice. The only reason he is not still my doc is because I moved out of the area - my loss for sure...
