Dr. Gregory J Hellier, DO

I have had a chronic right quadrant pain for a few years. The pain is present every single day, but the pain varies. For a little over a year, when that pain flares, I can get nauseated, lightheaded, and have chest discomfort. Generally symptoms are mild and tolerable, lasting a short time. However, on two occasions, symptoms were much more severe, requiring evaluation. I recently had an episode that was so severe, I was literally afraid. I had my employee assess my blood pressure, 170/100 approx. and my heart rate was 126. My normal blood pressure is 90/60. After more than 6 hours of this episode, I sought treatment. Dr. Hellier was the ER MD. I feel he dismissed my concerns almost immediately. I feel the ER labels abdominal pain complaints as drug seeking or attention seeking. Interestingly, upon review of my medical records, he documented "no discomfort" for my abdominal pain. Impossible, I have had pain for four years....ALWAYS tender to palpation. Also, interestingly, I was on a… cardiac monitor and noticed my heart rate would shoot to 120-140 each time I got up to use the bathroom; however, there is no mention of the continued tachycardia on my chart. they never even assessed orthostatic b/ps. There is no mention of my 170/100 blood pressure either. The nurse added a diagnosis of "anxiety" to my chart. The doctor prescribed me Prilosec despite the fact that I told him I religiously take protonix. The protonix was on the chart. They were just quick to label me. I was discharged. The next day, high blood pressure, heart rate, and symptoms returned. i consulted my physician friends and coworkers. It is believed that i am having a reaction to the synthroid I started 6 weeks ago (told to this doc too) and the reaction may be exacerbating my chronic response to my abdominal pain. I will hold my synthroid in the morning and evaluate response. I will have my labs checked. I am scheduled to see a surgeon to evaluate my gallbladder. I won't go back to this physician.
