Dr. Gregory Lewis Krauss, MD

I was referred me to Dr. Krauss last year because my seizure was uncontrollable. I was scared at first because JHU ranked #1 and I wasn’t sure how to behave around one of the best doctors in the nation! I pictures Dr. Krauss to be a very busy person and I would probably have less than 5 minutes of his time. To my surprise, Dr. Krauss spent a lot of time learning about my conditions and laid out some plans to achieve my goal. (Seizure free/Med free of course) Unfortunately my seizures still not stopping and I failed in EMU and wasn’t a candidate for surgery. I was bummed but Dr. Krauss was so kind and NEVER give up on me. After EMU, he ordered several tests to find alternatives and to make sure nothing was overlooked. He makes me feel hopeful..... He also very knowledgeable with Epilepsy drug and when my med couldn’t control the seizures he reassure that there are something else out there that I can try. I’m still very surprised and feel fortunate that I have access to such… great doctor, at my finger tips!!! He’s active on myChart and always answer to all my questions and concerns. I love myChart so much and it works because my doctor makes it works! I wish I can be seizure free soon and I trust Dr. Krauss to show me the way.

My comment is the same as the others I have read here. He did not run the test my Doctor told me I was going to have at the clinic. He told me so many things that simply are not true. It is disturbing to me how much my experience is like the other commitments here. I may write a letter to the Hospital not that it will do much good. I used to not read these, now I do. Had I known my doctor wasn't going to be the one doing this I would have done this in my home town. I certainly would not have traveled 11 hours to have this Doctor be in charge of my care who knows nothing of me and pass judgement that is absurd and way off base. Sometimes there are no words for how badly the end results of your visit was, the poor care you received and choice of words based on lack of records can impact your future care and life. Just because you happen to have randomly been stuck with this doctor for a test who knows nothing about you. Had I known I wouldn't have gone.

he put me on medication for no reason at all he should not be allowed to still be working. actually he should be in jail for what he did toruin my life. he is not worth my time to be typing this on this computer. a complete zero that's what he is

I would not recommend him as a doctor. He prescribed this medication to me that landed me in the emergency room and his diagnosis are not accurate.

If you have Epilepsy, I'm sure Dr Krauss is a good doctor. But otherwise he may not be the best fit. A couple years ago I was having a constellation of symptoms that eventually landed me at the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit to determine if I had epilepsy after I had a couple events that were described to me by my local ER as seizures. So I had a couple days of EEG and after the second day he proudly told me that I didn't have epilepsy and that I was completely fine and I would completely get better within a couple days. This is while I was having complex muscle weakness, sensory loss, and was very dizzy and faint. Even though I believed him and worked hard in physical and mental therapy for months, I got WORSE. And the worst part was that he urged me not to focus on it and most of all to not worry about any kind of other diagnostic testing. Clearly a CT of the Brain and an EEG is all I needed. He made me fear going to the doctor and second guess everytime I advocated for myself. All the… while I could feel myself getting worse. Over the course of the next year, My respiratory muscles ended up getting weak to the point of requiring intubation twice, my autonomic system became a complete mess, most of my vitals were unstable, I needed surgery of my spine and GI Tract, and have had 3 feeding tubes, months with TPN and many central lines. In fact if I wasn't so afraid of seeking help there was a good chance I would have been able to keep some more oral intake before my Digestive Tract Paralysis set in. I have a rare disease called Mitochondrial Disease (confirmed by biopsy AND genetic testing), which I don't blame him for not thinking of, but what I do blame him for is not running any tests (a short list of common tests that would have come up abnormal at that time- MRI w/ contrast, Upright MRI, EMG, PFT, Gastric Emptying Scan, Endoscopy, EKG, Tilt Table, Echo) and for instilling in me a sense of shame in getting help that took me years to shake. He basically flat out told me I was a waste of time. Now knowing I have a lifetime of medical intervention ahead of me, I can't see it as anything short of irresponsible. All EEGs do is rule in seizures, They do not rule out medical care.
