Dr. Gregory K. Milani, MD

When I had major depression and anxiety disorder, this doctor treated me badly and caused suicidal ideation.

This doctor caused me great harm. I was a relatively new patient and he accused me, VIA HIS STAFF, of selling my vicodin instead of taking it, and threw me out of the entire Rush Copley practice! He would not even talk to me about my urine scan results! It was absolutely the worst experience I've had with a doctor, hands down. He did not ensure I would be in the care of another doctor, as required by HIPAA. I should have sued him, but I already was in a huge legal dispute (which I eventually won) with my disability insurance company, and was in chronic pain from severe severe osteoarthritis in most of my joints, as well as fibromyalgia. I also suffered from clinical depression and chronic fatigue. So I was not up to the fight. Too bad! In addition to exacerbating my depression, Dr. Milani left me without any pain treatment. I cried for weeks. He didn't care. WORST DOCTOR EVER. His own patient advocate/risk management officer (now there's a conflict of interest) stated that… Milani knew next to nothing about drug screening, and assured me that my experience would cause policy changes so this never happened again. She said Dr. Milani acted inappropriately, but I still could not go to ANY Rush Copley doctor because that was up to Dr. Milani. My next doctor (Dr. Alexis Dunne at Advocate -- omg the difference was like night and day) who was SO compassionate, said there were a number of things that could have caused the vicodin not to show in the urine screen, including my body size and the fact that my blood sugar was very high (which Dr. Milani completely ignored), so I was drinking an insane amount of water. The whole bizarre experience caused me to realize they just wanted me out of the practice after I complained that Dr. Milani missed TWO appointments with me without 24 hour notice. Both times I had to go out in a snow storm and shovel snow off my car, only to be turned away when I got to the office. When the office manager called me, I thought it was regarding my complaint. In fact she first asked if I wanted to talk to her about a bad experience. I said yes, and elaborated a bit. Then abruptly, and quite cheerfully, she informed me that I was not allowed to come back because I violated the contract I signed re narcotics (I most certainly did not). I was speechless. I could tell she had me on speaker phone and I could hear her and another woman laughing. So go to Advocate. I haven't been there in awhile, since I moved to a different state, but I'll wager that even as you just walk in to each of these two Oswego offices, you will notice a HUGE difference. See for yourself!

I have seen Dr Milani for over 20 years. He is very competent, caring, and trustworthy. Always up to date with all new meds and procedures. He listens!

This doctor does not communicate directly with his patients, is incapable of trusting his patients, and is not trustworthy himself. He gave me a drug test, apparently to find out if I was compliant with my narcotic therapy for severe arthritis, fibromyalgia, and nerve pain. The narcotics did not show up in my blood. Apparently ignorant of the fact that my high blood sugar levels of 500+ (and huge water consumption) and my kidney disease make the drug test inapplicable to me, he accused me (in my file ... he never even discussed this with me to my face!) of selling my narcotics on the street and violating his practice's rules! He banned me from seeing him or any other Rush Copley doctor. (Rush Copley fully supported his behavior.) He also discontinued my pain meds, thus leaving my moderate to severe pain untreated. (In addition, he obviously wasn't listening when I told him I take my pain meds as needed, only, so as not to become addicted.) Also, he missed appointments with me… twice without advance notice. And he neglected to treat my out of control diabetes. All in all, I found him extremely unhumanistic, unprofessional, and ignorant.

Dr. Milani -- in only my first visit -- has instilled confidence in his knowledge, patience, and passion in his field. Look forward to continuing future when needed with Dr. Milani as primary care.

Dr. Milani is the BEST doctor I have ever had. He actually listens, cares, and spends a lot of time with you. He is very honest, kind, knowledgeable and will help his patients as best as he can. I thank God every day he is my doctor, b.c. I don't think I would be alive today if he wasn't.

This doctor is fat-obsessed. If you are obese, every visit you get a printout about a healthy diet ... like you are stupid and don't know that already. This office believes that fat = ignorant. All your other medical concerns are basically ignored. Also, it is impossible to communicate with anyone in this office in order to get information, request medical tests, etc. They are either too busy or too apathetic. Either way, the patient suffers from their negligence.

Dr. Milani is amazing. He spends time answering any questions I have, is very friendly and really knows his stuff! I recommend him to everyone I know. A+ doctor!
