Warning: Dr. Oden’s Approach to Patient Care I feel it’s essential to share my disturbing experience with Dr. Oden regarding my father's care at Select Specialty Hospital in Jackson, Mississippi. Dr. Oden's approach was not only inappropriate but deeply troubling. He shockingly suggested we take my dad off life support and gave him pain medication with the intent to hasten his death. This was utterly unacceptable, especially since my father is awake, alert, and able to follow commands. It was as if Dr. Oden completely overlooked my father's current condition and his potential for recovery. To make matters worse, Dr. Oden walked into my dad's room for less than three minutes and left without truly assessing his situation or understanding his medical history. His brief visit conveyed a complete lack of concern and awareness regarding my father’s condition. What’s more frustrating is that multiple nurses and other doctors at this facility have reassured us that they are actively… weaning him off the ventilator. They recognize his progress and are working toward recovery, in stark contrast to Dr. Oden's proposed course of action. Patient care should never be about hastening death but rather about providing compassionate and comprehensive care. Dr. Oden rushed to conclusions without regard for my father's well-being and ignored the insights of other medical professionals who genuinely care for him. My hope is that this review serves as a wake-up call for others. If you find yourself dealing with Dr. Oden, I urge you to question his recommendations and seek a second opinion. Over all horrible. Misdiagnosed twice and i almost lost my father because he has no clue what he is talking about
