Dr. Gregory F Pauxtis, MD

Wrote a lengthy review last year about this incredible physician. Still stand by what I wrote--only to add that I am so blessed to have found him.

Brillant. Trained at the best schools in the country. Must tell you that I am a very perceptive patient, RN, PhD with over 40 years of experience having worked with all kinds of doctors--from bedside to research. I have been seeing Dr. Pauxtis for years now. Right after I first met him, this man saved my life, literally. Had I not walked into his office for a scheduled follow up visit, I would have been dead. I had already been to another doctor that day in the same building; he saw me and sent me on my way. By the grace of God, I was scheduled to see Dr. Pauxtis just an hour later. He quickly realized I was very ill and sent me to the ER with an extensive note to hand to the ER doctor. Like I said, had it not been for Dr. Pauxtis, I would have died that day or the next. How one doctor missed what Dr. Pauxtis so readily saw amazes me still. I never went back to the first doctor. Someone said he was "excellent." No, he wasn't. Nice, but not excellent. Dr. Pauxtis has a… very clever way of figuring out what is wrong with you. He talks to you and watches how you are behaving, moving, etc. without you even realizing it. At the end of the conversation--not "interview," he preforms his physical exam. It is merely to confirm what he already knows just from having an extended, informal chat. It's very "old school." "Let the patient tell you what is wrong with them. They know." It is a listening art that isn't taught anymore or if it is, it is only at the best schools by the best teachers. Oh, he has e-mail. He checks it frequently and gets back to you. How many doctors do that? By the time you go for your scheduled visit, if you have had anything "happen" in between, he's already been on top of it and handled it via e-mail. You don't have to suffer and wait till your next appointment.

Horrible beside manners. Can only communicate with him via email. He will not tell me my blood results after many attempts. Very unprofessional.

AN EXCELLENT NEUROLOGIST

I have some serious problems and I have been to several Neurologists in the past several years.During my first visit I had trouble deciding if he was going to be a good match for me or not. By the end of the session I made up my mind: Dr Pauxtis is very attentive and patient. He lets you talk without cutting you off like some of my other Dr's do. He is very to the fact and by the book. He does not rush you out after your 15 minutes is up. in fact my longest appointment lasted almost an hour and a half.I have a long way to go, but he has started to resolve my problems that many others have failed at.
