Dr. Gregory Poole, a podiatrist, diagnoses and treats conditions of the foot and ankle, including ingrown nails, plantar warts and soft tissue masses such as ganglion cysts.
Bone related problems include bunions, hammertoes, flat feet and heel pain. “I also treat acute and chronic foot and ankle injuries ranging from sprains and strains to fractures. It’s a wide variety of care. I treat children, the elderly and everyone in between. Every aspect of the foot and ankle interests me, particularly sports medicine and reconstructive surgery,” Dr. Poole said.
​​“There are multiple ways I can help people with structural and biomechanical problems,” says Dr. Poole. “Most foot problems are caused by the abnormal function of the foot. I can offer conservative treatment choices, like orthotics, as well as more aggressive surgical treatment options. I want each of my patients to get back to doing the things they enjoy, so I work with them to get to the desired …results. My approach is to conduct a thorough exam and discuss honestly what treatment options might be best for them as unique individuals.”
​​Dr. Poole grew up in Wausau, where he, his wife and four children live today. He enjoys outdoor activities, fishing and golf, and spending time with his family.
​​Dr. Poole completed medical school at Des Moines University – College of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery. He did a surgical residency at what is now known as The Franciscan Foot and Ankle Institute in the Seattle area. He is board certified in foot and ankle surgery as well as in reconstructive rearfoot/ankle surgery.
