Dr. Gregory Randolph

I think that Dr. randolph is an excellent surgeon. That said, this review is a commentary on a 4 month post-surgical follow up visit: I came from almost 2 hrs away for an appointment scheduled for 11:45 a.m.. After checking in, I asked the front desk staff how the appts were running and was told that he was about 1 hr behind. I returned about 45 minutes later and was told that things were moving quickly and that I would be likely be brought in within 15 minutes. Nope. I wasn't seen until about 2 p.m.. No apologies for the long wait! When I was finally seen, he went over possible outcomes for blood tests that he was going to order (which could have been done pre-visit and then discussed at this visit. I had specifically called a week prior to ask about doing the labwork). He had already discussed these possible at my previous post-op visit and so this was not new info.! He also did not look at my scar and only told me that it was still pink and should still be covered with scar strips… after I asked him about it on the way out. Visit was a waste of time, could have been done virtually but didn't even seem like that was necessary. However, it cost me for gas, parking, and dealing with late traffic coming back out of town and almost missing a 6 pm appt..

If there is a standard for doctors to go by. Its should be doctor Randolfs standards. His ethics, compassion, and concerns are second to none. And that's not including his qualifications. If you have issues with your thyroid. Hes the doctor you want to see

I have totally put my faith in Dr. Randolph and he has saved my voice. I would thoroughly recommend him.

I visited Dr. Randolph for a 2nd opinion and I am so grateful that I did. I was seen within 2 weeks of calling and he helped me weigh the options of either having the partial thyroidectomy or continuing to monitor. After deciding to have the surgery, my pathology report unexpectedly came back with 2 different kinds of cancer and he fit me in within 2 days to make a plan and answer all of my questions. He is incredibly knowledgeable and has such a wonderful demeanor. Highly recommended!

If you have hyperparathyrodism please, please do not waste your time going to see Dr Randolph. He will without a doubt be at least 2 hours late. I don't care what his credentials are, or who the heck he thinks he is, making patients wait such a long time to be seen is untenable and unprofessional and exceedingly disrespectful. The staff at the front desk will tell you "Yes, he is always late". If you are attributing this poor behavior to him spending extra time with his patients you are very mistaken. He will walk into the room, offer you a limp, dead fish hand shake, not ask you one question about yourself or what you may know and go into a long lecture about your condition, often repeating himself several times. (I did my homework before seeing him. His lecture was a waste of my time and his as he didn't tell me what I didn't already know, worse I couldn't get a word in edgewise. He even lifted his precious little hand and stopped me from asking. I guess he can't handle his… memorized script interrupted. I have read the journals and many studies, some of his info is outdated and he is a very very rude man who needs to get over himself). He will then outline a course of action and try to run off without answering questions. When you do get him to answer your questions (you must be proactive and firm), he is slightly freaked out and a little defensive. He does not want to listen to you. He does not care who you are or what you know as a patient. His surgical methods are 50 years behind the times and I promise you will find better doctors out of state.

I did a lot of research and asking around before I chose a doctor. I don't feel I could've been in better hands than with Dr. Randolf. I'm suprised to see he has any negative comments here.He writes books on the subject of thyroid surgery other doctors follow. He teaches and designs the course at Harvard. He travels and speaks at seminars about new methods. His bedside manner and that of his fellow Mohammed was very gentle and caring. The follow up was excellent and more so than I needed. He recommended me to a cancer specialist and is still involved in the case when I need him to be, even without a visit he's there if I have questions. I've contacted him with questions a few times by email or phone and he's always responded quickly. If I had to do it again I would go with Dr Randolf in a heartbeat. I waited 25 minutes my first appt and 15-20 the next few. Brought a book and was happy to be in so quick. He took the time to listen and remembered what I said on followng… visits. No complaints at all. Every other staff member I saw in the hospital before my surgery said he was the best and I believe them. The surgery was smooth and I hardly had any pain from a complete thryoidectomy.

I had sinus surgery at Mass Eye and Ear and thought I was getting better care but after many follow ups (not with Dr. Randolf), I have come to learn that I did not receive the best available procedure and follow up care was horrendous. I had an in office three weeks after my surgery which was delayed due to his being at a conference so that made it even worse, he scraped my sinuses and I passed out in the chair three times from the pain, ridiculous and barbaric care, thank god I have found another doctor that gives a dam about long term care and not just pushing radical and overdone surgical procedures.

After my having suffered from sinus problems for years, my ENT doctor referred me to Dr. Randolph for endoscopic sinus surgery. In 1998 Dr. Randolph performed this surgery at Mass. Eye and Ear,along with septoplasty (correction of deviated septum). The surgery changed my life. Dr. Randolph was compassionate and caring. I owe my quality of life to him.

My husband was in the military when I had my surgery. We were transfered before our 6 month follow up. Dr Randolph not only followed up with my new doctors he also took time to call me and make sure I was ok...Above and beyond in many ways...
