Dr. Gretchen Lien Byrkit, MD

Dr. Byrkit is very thorough, and her years of experience show. She is no-nonsense, and if there's a difficult issue that needs to be addressed, she is not one to beat around the bush or sugar coat. For example, if you are having health problems and are overweight, a couch potato, a smoker, etc., she's going to point out that changes need to be made. Sometimes the truth is hard to hear, and I suspect that's why there are people putting bad reviews out. Personally, I want someone who is and advocate for my health, and advocates don't enable....they help you face the truth.

The VA care in the community chose this obgyn as nearest for my pregnancy. The billing coordinator called me before scheduling. I have tried to call the office to get scheduled every day this week. They still haven't scheduled me, so Iam having the VA find a doctor with better reviews. Thank you for saving me from a terrible experience!

Horrible horrible bedside manner. Condescending and hateful and that’s if you catch her on a good day. She is there for the money and nothing more.

This woman made me feel terrible about myself. I began crying in our appointment because she was that mean.

Narcissistic woman. Not willing to listen but willing to make you feel like trash about yourself.

A Great Doctor I really like Dr. Byrit she helped me through my fibroids and bleeding for years on and off also I had a poly which she found and took out she has made my life so much better all I can say for me she has been excellent doctor and her staff is great also.

I became a patient of Dr Byrkit's when I found out I was pregnant with my son 12 years ago. Looking back, it does seem that she was more straightforward when I was pregnant. My honest opinion is she just has high expectations of you as a mother since your choices impact the development of YOUR baby. It is great to have a doctor (who went to school for this...) to lay it out there when you need it. I'm a pretty sensitive person as in, I cry easy and she never made me feel upset or to the point that I thought twice about her caring for me or my son. Fast forward to my visit just the other day, she was nothing but nice, caring and compassionate. Dr Byrkit helped me through my pregnancy and now through the next chapter of my life. It is very rare that you find a doctor that will take the time to listen to your concerns and not make you feel rushed. Please don't let the negative comments overlook this great doctor.

Dr Byrkit has been my Dr. for 11 years. 4 pregnancies, 3 babies and 3 surgeries. she has been amazing she has held my hand and let me cry and has been there with me through the good and bad. reading these reviews I am shocked that they are dealing with the same Dr I have. her staff has always been great to work with. I highly recommend her. I left a bad OB to come to her office and have always been happy here

I have been going to Dr. Byrkit for just about 18 years. I have yet to become pregnant, so I cannot vouch for the reviews I have seen on here for that. However, she is one of the most honest and intellectual people I have encountered. She has sometimes told me things I did not "want" to hear, but NEEDED to hear, because everyone else in life "sugar coats" the truth. I think sometimes people get butt-hurt in this society someone will say, "Hey, you're getting a little overweight." I don't care if she has "good" people skills, I just want an intelligent doctor who knows how to do her job. Dr. Byrkit is one of the FEW physicians to sit down and have a conversation with me. She is not worried about a 15-minute quota nor does she ever make me feel rushed or inconvenient. We will have a conversation about my diet, exercise, whether I am going to go traveling, or whatever it may be, SHE LISTENS. She is informative of how to be a more healthier & happier me. She doesn't make me feel… uncomfortable, and her office staff is always nice to me.

Horrible. Her bed side manners and her nurse's is awful. Felt disrespected, unappreciated, talked down to, and discouraged. All things you shouldn't feel during such an exciting time in your life. I have been with my new doctor for years and there is absolutely no comparison and makes me realize just how bad they treat people. I STRONGLY recommend not going to her!!! She is awful with people....
