Dr. Gretchen E Glaser, MD

Dr. Glaser is a very skilled and experienced surgeon. My recovery from the cone biopsy and the radical hysterectomy was thankfully uncomplicated. I came to Mayo Clinic after an initial evaluation two additional institutions. My cancer has proven extremely rare, difficult to diagnose before the hysterectomy, and difficult to treat. Furthermore, because of its rarity, the standard of care for this specific cancer is not currently established. Therefore, in this case, good communication skills and open discussion with a patient to help the patient make informed decision becomes even more important. Throughout this difficult/emotional process, I had many questions, and some that required an extensive assessment of available medical literature. Dr. Glaser and her team at Mayo responded respectfully and patiently to my many questions, and including discussing my questions with other physicians (pathologists, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, radiologists) before and after… my surgery. The support staffs were also very friendly and efficient, before or after my visit at Mayo.
