Dr. Guy Jerome Buckle, MD

Dr. Buckle has been a lifesaver for me. I was initially dx with MS in 2012 by a general neurologist and put on medication that was completely inappropriate for me. This, in turn, caused far more problems than the MS itself was causing. Despite expressing concerns multiple times about the effects of this medication, I was continuously told to stay on it. With my mental health reaching a desperate low, I spoke with my PCM and expressed the need to see a physician that specialized in this disease and was then referred to the Shepherd Center. My first visit with Dr. Buckle was enlightening, hopeful, and comforting. He listened, really listened to, at that point in time, a half-crazed patient! I was exhausted, depressed, and stressed out; not to mention that my life had been completely flipped upside down. Dr. Buckle, recognized immediately that the medication was counterproductive to another medication I was on and promptly took me off of it. Two years later, I am almost my old self again,… albeit with some residual effects from the five years on a medication I should have never been on. It is unnerving to think where I might be today had it not been for Dr. Buckle’s keen insight, expert knowledge, and genuine concern. I have complete confidence in him and I know that with him on my team now, it is only going to keep getting better.

He acted like I was lying and wouldn't allow me to speak. He's terrible. I guess I didn't look wealthy enough for him to show kindness.

I was diagnosed with M.S. went for a 2nd opinion .Something is definitely wrong with him. He tried to act as if I was lying about my illness. Was it because I am a woman ? He was dismissive and rude to me. I left in tears.... worst experience I ever had with a doctor.

Dr. Buckle is quite outstanding. I have been to many physcians but Dr. Buckle really took the time to explain what my symptoms might mean. He knew all the drugs and therapies available and explained the potential benefits of each one. Dr. Buckle certainly cares about his patients, that was very evident.

Dr. Buckle recently diagnosed me with MS. He and his staff are so caring and professional. He calmed my fears and gave me a lot of information about MS.

but he doesn't listen. And if you don't listen, and simply make assumptions, then you set yourself up to make mistakes (and if you don't want to listen to the patient. listen to and read what the referring physician has to say -- especially when his credentials are as good as yours!) Maybe I caught him on an off day. But he was so certain, and so wrong -- so wrong he might have been reading a different patient's chart.

I've been a patient of Dr. Buckle's for 15 years. What I think is great about him is that he actually cares about me and my condition. His bedside manner is remarkable. You don't find a lot of doctors like him. He's a kind and humble guy PLUS he's at the top of his field and makes sure to share the latest studies and findings on MS with me. When we view my MRI results together he explains the progress of my disease in layman's terms. I have nothing but good things to say about Dr. Buckle.

I am a middle aged female patient. This doctor seems odd. Something is not right. He appears to be a legend in his own mind. I don't trust him at all. I would not recommend him. Being a guinea pig for the sake of research with this guy involved is not reasonable or palatable.

Have been a pt of Dr Buckle for 3 years with a dx of MS. He spends as much time with me as I need. Although his office staff (not Mary) sometimes is difficult - I would not stop seeing him, He is an intelligent, caring physician.
