Dr. Guy Frederic Pugh, MD

I had to find a physician when my other pcp moved away. I read many reviews and I really liked Dr Pughs approach to care. I’ve been with him for a few years now and he has been there for me with all my health issues. I feel extremely lucky to have an incredible doctor who responds to emails and sees me whenever I am ill. He’s one of the very best doctors I’ve ever had!

He’s one of the very best doctors I’ve ever had!

I have found it's the rare doctor who will give advice by email. I left the one who I couldn't contact between appointments for questions that didn't need a visit. All I could get by phone was a callback from her nurse, who twice gave me dead wrong information. Given that background I was delighted with my switch to Dr. Pugh. He listens during appointments. I never feel rushed, and yet I never have to wait. I haven't figured out how he manages that. And whenever I send a question he answers it thoughtfully and promptly. I haven't figured out how he does that either.

Don't let the curmudgeonly demeanor discourage you. Dr. Pugh is thorough, he listens, and has an approach to care that is broader than what you get with the average PCP. He is open to ideas and questions, which is a rarity. Most importantly, he is quick to respond or give advice via the Patient Portal. Highly recommended!

dr. Pugh is very organized, very intelligent, spends lots of time with me and covers all questions and gives very thorough explanations. His bedside manner can be sarcastic but maybe he was having an off day. He responds quickly to email. He seems on top of his game.

Dr. Pugh is an open-minded, Harvard-trained MD. Very smart, very well-read and up on latest treatments, including alternative therapies. He caught a lump on my very first physical exam that turned out to be a cancerous tumor. No other doctor had taken the time to ever examine me so closely on a routine physical. That level of care may have saved my life. He referred me to a specialist for a biopsy and the rest is history. That was 6 years ago and I'm alive, well, and probably cancer-free. He takes time with his patients, he responds to emails (in very frank and thoughtfully-brainy terms). I recommend him without hesitation.
