Dr. Haiyan Wang, MD

My son is dealing with drug-induced depression and anxiety. Our first visit with Dr. Wang she spent only 15min with me (mom) and 20min with my son (13y) and without any appropriate testing or addressing the substance abuse issue, she happily announced in front of my son that he's a perfect candidate for medical treatment and prescribed him the strongest meds out there - Prozac! "We don't want our teens to be depressed mom, correct?" She even suggested that any holistic approached like yoga, talk therapy are not effective with depression. After being her patient for over 6 months I called her for a followup and meds refill. My son has not seen her due to extended treatment and when I've asked for the refill for the meds she prescribed, she said she can't give it to him anymore. What an unprofessional approach. It is very frustrating to see doctors who are happy to put kids on the meds without a depression diagnosis, drug testing, and/or actually suggesting an RTC… (residential)treatment.
