Dr. Hakimeh Banoo Kadivar, MD

Dr. Kadivar is a gem like no other Ear, nose and throat Dr. I've encountered over many years. She is old world in her manner and professionalism and to some that might be at first awkward. Make no mistake though she is up to date in every way and her manner is one of deep caring. She takes the time to truly understand the issue, then educates you on how you can heal with communication you can understand, sends you home with both medical and practical advice written clearly on a sheet of paper detailing what you need to do and when. In an age of doctors trying to get as many patients through their schedule as possible, she is one rare, generous and exceedingly valuable doctor who allows time to truly help. Grateful.

Dr. Kadivar is one of the most amazing doctors I have ever come across. She is so gentle and caring. She operated on my sinuses. She explained what was causing my problems and answered all my questions. She took such wonderful care of me before and after surgery. I have never in my life realized that I was wasn't breathing through my nose so much, as I was my mouth. I am sleeping better, my sense of taste and smell is so much more than I can ever remember. Her staff is so helpful and friendly. I always enjoyed going to my appointments. She is absolutely a wonderful doctor, she spent as much time as I needed in my appointments.I would recommend her to anyone. I didn't even know all these years that I had allergies that have caused my issues...she found them and addressed the problem and has helped me to learn how to deal with them on a daily basis. I think she is amazing!

I wasnt able to sleep for the longest time and had accepted the fact that it was probably just insomnia. Someone recommended that I see Dr. Kadivar and after surgery my quality of sleep and life have improved. Her professionalism and kindness are beyond AWESOME! The examinations are thorough and pleasant. Her staff is kind and I am never kept waiting. If you need an E.N.T.....Dr. Kadivar is by far the best! I trust her 100%.

I've gone to see Dr. Kadivar twice (as a referral by my primary care Physician for allergies and snoring). Both times I waited over an hour. The first time I had to reschedule, because I had waited over 90 minutes in Dr. Kadivars reception area but had another appointment I needed to get to. The second appointment, I waited over 90 minutes again.When the Doctor finally did see me, she read my "new patient questionnaire" and immediately began to berate my recent weight gain (and I'm only 20 lbs overweight... I wonder how she treats REALLY obese people). She said my condition was due to poor diet and oral hygiene. I tried to explain that Id been snoring LONG before I was overweight (ever since I was a child).Dr. Kadivar cut me short and said, You dont ask questions. You just follow the instructions I give you. She proceeded to write instructions on a piece of paper and STILL HADNT EXAMINED ME YET.I was dumb-founded. HOW CAN ANY DOCTOR make a prognosis without even examining the patient… first?She had asked me no questions, had no idea of my past medical history. She just started assuming what my condition was, from my questionnaire. I tried again, politely, to inform the Doctor of my medical history, tests that had been done, past diagnosis, and current symptoms. She cut me short again by saying, Can I ask you a serious question? Do you really want to be helped? FINALLY, Dr. Kadivar examined me (barely). Her entire examination to less than 30 seconds (Im not kidding). My appointment ended after exactly 12 minutes.I am STILL dumb-founded by my visit w/ Dr. Kadivar. I left her office feeling verbally abused and still had NO IDEA what my prognosis was. I was just told to brush more regularly, and stop drinking juice and coffee. SERIOUSLY? Ive been snoring since I was 5 years old and have recently developed SEVERE SINUS allergies. And all this doctor did was yell at me for 10 minutes and tell me to brush more????? SERIOUSLY???I WILL NOT return to this Doctor and have EVERY intention of getting a QUALIFIED second opinion.
