Hamid Mumtaz, MD is a board certified surgeon through the American Board of Surgery and American Board of Thoracic Surgery. With over a decade of experience in private practice, he provides a full spectrum of thoracic, vascular and general surgical care. He recently completed special training in thoracic oncology with an emphasis on robotic at the Moffitt Cancer Center.

Dr. Mumtaz continuously expands his knowledge and surgical skills and stays current with advances in health care to provide the best possible outcome to his patients. He is recognized amongst his peers for the compassionate, expedient and well-informed care he provides.

In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his family, running, swimming and playing tennis.

Dr Hamid Mumtaz is an amazing surgeon with a wonderful bedside manner... Dr Mumtaz found the reason for my on-going pain when no one else could and corrected the situation... His kindness to my wife and I was so appreciated especially during a stressful time... His nurse "J" is compassionate and extremely informative throughout the whole experience... Dr. Mumtaz was very attentive to my needs. He took care of me from beginning to end. I would recommend him to anyone who is having vascular issues. He could have taken my gallbladder out because I was referred to him but he consulted with me gave me options and looked for himself to determine if I really needed surgery.

When my dad's leg "died" on him, he needed emergency vascular surgery. Dr Mumtaz was on call. He said amputation was necessary. BUT, we were of course, in denial. If we wanted, he would TRY everything. He said the odds were not good. A grueling 4-5 hr surgery followed. He is so caring, so dedicated. The surgery did get blood flow to his foot, but the nerve damage was so severe, dad never got any feeling back or use of the leg. Dad had waited years too long to seek treatment. It would be a useless limb, and long rehab. My dad is almost 85. Doc advised, for quality of life, to amputate. Dr Mumtaz saw
