Scott Ross, MD

Scott Ross, MD, is a board-certified cardiothoracic surgeon at AdventHealth Tampa’s Pepin Heart Institute providing advanced surgical care for adults ages 18 and older, with a focus on mitral valve repair and minimally invasive valve surgery. With more than 20 years of experience, he is dedicated to helping patients achieve better heart health through expert, personalized care. Dr. Ross earned his medical degree from the University of Virginia School of Medicine after graduating summa cum laude from Bucknell University. He completed his cardiothoracic surgery residency at Stanford University Medical Center, including additional training in pediatric cardiac surgery at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital. He also completed a general surgery residency at the University of Virginia, where he served as Chief Resident, along with a research fellowship in thoracic and cardiovascular surgery. He is board-certified by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery.
