Dr. Hanan Hussein, MD

I express strong caution to anyone who reads positive reviews about Dr. Hussain and considers visiting her. If you value being treated with respect, dignity, and having your concerns taken seriously, I discourage you from seeing her. During my initial appointment, she had a dismissive and rushed attitude, lacking empathy and failing to listen to my issues. Bedside manner was terrible. I found fabricated things in my after-visit summary. The entries falsely claimed that we discussed personal factors contributing to my chronic fatigue or IBS. Dr. Hussain didn't even make eye contact with me when diagnosing me with IBS; instead, she stated it to the nurse without explaining it to me. Although I was already familiar with IBS, I couldn't imagine how a patient unfamiliar with IBS would feel in that situation. She has lack of patient interaction, inadequate communication skills.The after-visit summary said other discussions that never took place. Reading these entries left me bewildered,… questioning if we were even at the same appointment. excerpt of what was recorded: “Discussed with patient organic and lifestyle causes that could be attributing to fatigue, including sleep hygiene. Counseled patient on triggers that cause instability and mechanisms to help deal with stressors. Discussed goals for patient. Discussed risks and benefits of agent(s) and CBT counseling. Advised patient to continue with support system. Instructed follow-up in 4 weeks, or sooner if symptoms worsen. THESE NEVER HAPPENED. NEVER TOOK PLACE. I was taken aback when Dr. Hussain entered the room and exclaimed, "Shit, this is as good as it gets. Why is this little girl getting an EKG?" Firstly, I question the appropriateness of addressing a 20-year-old in such a manner. Does being 20 years old classify me as a "little girl"? It is important to note that I am not being overly sensitive; she referred to me as a "little girl" twice and a "kid" once, displaying a consistently condescending attitude. Regardless of whether she intended it as a joke, such unprofessional behavior is unacceptable when dealing with a patient. It is worth mentioning that she repeatedly referred to me as "the little girl/one with the heart murmur issue." Additionally, she made unsolicited comments about pregnancy, suggesting that having a heart murmur and experiencing tiredness would be undesirable for a pregnant woman. She even attempted to make a joke about not meaning pregnancy "right now," but rather in about 10 years, insinuating that having children at 20 would be inappropriate. Her opinion on my reproductive choices is irrelevant, and it was inappropriate for her to make such remarks. I found her jokes to be highly inappropriate. It's worth noting that Dr. Hussain has no knowledge of whether I have children or have been pregnant before. Her assumptions are rude and unprofessional. A doctor should not dictate when it is appropriate for a patient to have children, nor should they demean patients by referring to them as "kids" or "little girls" when they are adults with their own responsibilities, professions, and relationships. The lack of respect and basic decency displayed by Dr. Hussain was truly astonishing. 2 nurses were present, and they were kind and acted as nurses should. They maintained professionalism. During EKG procedure, Dr. Hussain was rough in her handling of telling me to move my arm. It's not so much about kindness as it is about common decency. I have never encountered such an experience before, despite having seen numerous doctors in the past. While I understand that she likely has many patients and may not remember me specifically, she could at least review the information readily available on the computer in front of her, instead of displaying unprofessionalism. Her approach was brusque, hurried, crossed professional boundaries, and exhibited rudeness and unprofessionalism overall. Dr Hussein was very unprofessional and negligent. When I went to visit her because my stomach was swollen she didn’t even bother to check me out. She walked in with her clipboard saying I was fat. I asked her if she was sure because my stomach was swollen she said You don’t want to admit your fat but trust me. She didn’t ask me why I was there she went by what I told her Asst nurse/nurse but no one check my belly to see if it was really swollen. she say she was going to put me in a weight loss plan. I went to get a second opinion with a different Doctor she check my belly while I was standing, when I was sitting and she got me to lay down and touch all over to see if she could feel my organs. She send me to get an ultrasound than a ct scan and it turn out I had a big cyst with abdomen fluid. I needed surgery in order for them to removed the cyst. Dr Hussein didn’t even bother to look at my stomach nor as me anything. She is a Doctor and this is the first time I experience this type of… behavior from a doctor where they just walk in tell what they going to do “weight loss plan” but never even bother to check me or hear my side of the story. I don’t need a translator nor a nurse to tell my story. She is leaving the work for the Asst nurse/nurse and she is going by what they tell her. Dr Hussein is lazy, careless, and negligent. Very unprofessional.

She is very personable and always concerned about my well being. She is very knowledgeable and experienced physician. I highly recommend Dr. Hanan Hussein!

Honestly I am completely disappointed with her. She didn't explain my condition aureately, prescribed me some medication, didn't talk about the dosage, side effects or frequency. Didn't talk about follow up.

Her positive and pragmatic attitude is refreshing.
