Dr. Hang Rae Pak, DO

Dr Pak is a terrific Dr who really cares about his patients. Dr Pak has treated me for my neck and lower back pain issues and has been so compassionate and really cares to help his patients feel better without drugs. Can’t recommend him enough.

I have been a patient of this Pain Management group for two years. I saw Dr. Pak for the first time. It took years to get my PM medications to the point where I was able to participate in life just a bit more. Long story short, he asked me a few questions and recommended a surgeon. I told him I had an appointment at the end of next month as that was the fastest the surgeon could see me. He said I needed to see someone sooner as I shouldn't be on the narcotic medication and I need to come off it. I agreed. He cut me down to one less pill a day. I was fine with that. Then he said again I needed to see someone else right away and he would set me up with a surgeon .....I thanked him and told him the new Doctor would need to take Medicare and Medicaid as I was on disability with a very limited income. He mumbled under his breath that it was like "talking to his teenagers and my health was more important than money". I said "I'm sorry, what did you say? He turned and left the room. His nurse… apologized for him. Dr Pak anticipates what a person will say and answers the questions that he hears in his head and not the question or answer that you give. I had no problems with the changes he made and thanked him for his advice. He spoke to me as if I were a combatant and was disagreeing with him. Perhaps that happens to him often but he should not anticipate someones behavior based on others. If his group were not the only ones to take both my insurances within a 20 mile radiance, I would change PM groups. Medicare and Horizon tell me they are the only ones near me. I am stuck. His office could not provide the name of a different neurosurgeon and said they would get back to me with the referral......waiting.

Very bad communicate, do not return calls, next day if lucky

I could not be any more grateful to have found a compassionate doctor like Dr. Pak. I have a degenerative disease and have been to many doctors to treat my pain. It wasn't until I met Dr. Pak that I finally was able to get relief. Before seeing Dr. Pak I was living every day in pain and was fearful to do things with my children because I knew it would cause me more pain. I have been able to get my life back and Dr. Pak has truly changed my life. I could not be any more grateful.

At my first appointment, Dr. Pak seemed caring and appeared as though he desired to help. After seeing this doctor for 3 years, I have now discovered he has misdiagnosed me and the medications he prescribed were actually detrimental to my actual condition. I wish he would have referred me to other specialists when he realized he did not understand my condition. Furthermore, he advised against seeking out other specialists and told me I should just continue taking pain medication for the rest of my life. I have found an incredible new doctor who correctly diagnosed and understands my muscle disease, and am thankful. When Dr. Hang Pak did not understand my condition during the past 3 years, he would dismiss my symptoms, prescribe way more medication than was necessary, and would administer steroid injections without knowing what was really causing my illness.
