Dr. Hans Edwin Caspary, MD

I am not one to write reviews but I feel like my experience warrants this. I was referred to Dr. Caspary by an urgent care center in Panama City for a potential abscess behind my ear. After arriving at the office and being told they had no record of the appointment, I pleaded with the receptionist to allow me to see a doctor due to the size and area of the abscess. They were able to get me in. Dr. Caspary said he thought it may be Masitioditis (which can be life-threatening) and that I would need to come back the following day for a CT Scan that would be done in office. I am currently traveling and the office was outside my insurance network so I had been paying upfront. The office said they would call me the next day and let me know the price of the CT Scan. They gave me the price of the CT Scan and scheduled the appointment. Since they mentioned it would be done in office, I had assumed they would also read it in office. When they did not read the CT and sent me home (the… abscess has not gone down, there were no additional antibiotics given) I went back in and pleaded again to the receptionist that I would like to see the doctor, that I did not know what to do, and was afraid. At this point, it was suggested I consider going to the ER or make arrangements to go to the ER. Dr. Caspary did not come in the room and instead sent his medical assistant. I ran home to grab a bag for the ER, I lose hearing in my ear and it begins draining. I rush to the ER. I call Dr. Caspary's office at 4:45 to request that the CT Scan be sent to the ER knowing they will need them. The answering service says they cannot connect me to the office. I hang up. Once I arrived at the ER, they immediately took me back, started new rounds of antibiotics, run additional CT Scans, flushed the ear and made me feel safe. Dr. Caspary's office did not follow up with me until days later (after I had already called their office to schedule the follow up). During follow up with Dr. Caspary's office, I let him personally know that I felt the care I was given was less than acceptable. His response was to the effect of, "yeah, I don't know." At this point, all I want to do is make sure I am okay and leave the office. I will say Dr. Caspary did seem more concerned after this and gave me great care from this point on. After my last appointment, I spoke with the office manager who apologized for my experience. I felt that since I was self-pay and had to have the imaging redone - that I should have my money refunded for the CT scan that was done in office. She said she would get back to me and did not. This was at the end of May. I am fine now and continued about my life and had decided to just move on. Then I received a bill from a radiologist for $1200. The office never informed me that they would be sending the radiology report out - just that it would be done in office. The also never disclosed I would be charged separately for this. When I called to find out why, I was told this is normal and that there was nothing they could do. The care I was given at Dr. Caspary's office of Head & Neck Associates of Bay County was unfair and unacceptable. I sincerely hope no one else ever has to go through this type of experience.

Very nice man! All I needed was my tonsils out, but it was a good experience with him (excluding the healing process)

I had a thyroid lubectomy. Was a benign nodule. Dr Caspery was excellent throughout. Always caring and positive and never had to wait long at appointments.

Bad experience on all the above!!

He is so good with my 3 year old son. I really enjoy having him for my sons doctor. Excellent!!!!

Went above and beyond to help me with paper work for the V.A. Nice to have a Dr. who really cares. Have never waited more then 5 min after appt time, most of the time I get in early

I love Him! He has been taking care of of my 2 children since they were infants. When my daughter had her tonsils taken out there was complications and he had to return to the hospital. He stayed until he knew she was ok. I would never trust my children with anyone but him.

I thought he was very caring and he was able to diagnose a problem for me that other doctor's missed.
