Dr. Hany Youssef Farag Mekhael, MD

Dr. Mekhael has been a kind & compassionate physician to our family for years. Many psychiatrists throw meds at you & move on only to check in every 3 months to satisfy insurance requirements & collect a co-pay. That is NOT how Dr. Mekhael operates. He cares. Truly cares. Not just about the patient, but those interacting with the patient; parents, siblings, caregivers, teachers, etc. Something we’re grateful for is that despite seeking psychiatric assistance from him, he still treats us respectfully, not like we’re “less than” in any way. Mental health may be more socially acceptable nowadays, but there’s still one’s own insecurity when asking for help. Dr. Mekhael creates a comfortable environment in which to open up as well as involving patients in their own plan of care. (Which definitely leads to more positive outcomes in my opinion.) The office is a bit far for our family, but it’s located on a major road & near the hospital so it’s readily accessible. The medical assistants are… young, but perhaps I’m just getting old. Front desk staff are quite busy, but efficient. When I call any doctor’s office I absolutely HATE being stuck leaving a voicemail because calls are so rarely returned timely. I’m grateful that’s not the case with Dr. Mekhael’s staff. They consistently respond promptly & address our needs completely. If there’s any uncertainty in my review thus far let me clarify: Dr. Mekhael (and the team that supports him) are HIGHLY RECOMMENDED by our family.

I have seen Dr. Mekhael since i was 15 years old. I am now 22. He got me through the toughest time in my life, a time i truly dont know hoe i made it through. I owe my life and my quality of life to him. I am so thankful for him as i really didnt think i would make it.

Dr. Mekhael has been treating my teenager for several years now. After going to 3 different psychologist he was the one who finally helped me get my son back with the right combinations of medication. It wasn't instant because it takes time to figure out the right medication. He encourages his blood work to be done and makes sure we go to counseling behavior modification. He is very professional and still takes a few minutes to talk with my son. Answers all my questions regarding medication and my son's progress. Once when my son wasn't responding to treatment I left a message and he called me right away at home. I am very grateful to Dr. Mekhael.

You would be better served talking with your CAT!! gave me 6 different medications in one month D A N G E R O U S!!! zero patient compassion, zero bedside manner. Thinks the world of himself, should be disbarred!!!! AVOID AT ALL COST if you value your life

Not compassionate or gentle. Very matter of fact. Misdiagnosed me.

NO interest in the patient, spends the least time possible, in & out is best for him... HIS insurance billing which is like a clock takes priority over the patient... gives out drugs like candy....its all about HIM and HIS benefit...STAY AWAY!!!!
