Dr. Hao Helena Xu, MD

I had a similar experience as another patient who wrote a review about Dr. Hao Xu raising her voice and becoming irritated. When she asked me about my symptoms I started to explain and she told me to "not waste" her time. It takes a lot for me to visit the doctor so I was beyond hurt when I left the office. I walked out to the parking lot and cried in my car and was unable to drive because I was in disbelief of the encounter I had with this doctor. She is TERRIBLE and should not be allowed to practice medicine!

I had a phone appointment with her with kaiser when she called she didn’t address who she was only said “hello how may I help you?” then spent 5-10 minutes confused about the very simple situation that I forgot my anxiety meds at home while I was on vacation and was having a physical reaction because she kept cutting me off and talking over me instead of listening. After she called a pharmacy that was unable to fill the prescription she called me back and was raising her voice and using a very irritated impatient tone telling me she didn’t have time for me, if I didn’t give her another number “RIGHT NOW” she was going to hang up and I would need to call the nurse back and wait another hour + for another appointment for another doctor to call a pharmacy. I was absolutely appalled by this behavior. I was feeling so sick, having anxiety and now being what I felt yelled at by my doctor who is supposed to help me (which I told her) I simply hung up and burst into tears, ended up with no… help and having to leave my vacation and go home in order to get my medication.

Tried to have a conversation ablut my health concerns. Kept cutting me off instead of letting me explain my symptoms.

I have been a patient of Dr Xu for several years now, and I find her to be very knowledgeable and thorough as my healthcare provider. She gets it right every time just by examining me and listening to my complaints. She's also very pleasant and wants you to be well with the care provides/recommends.

Quiet, courteous, actually interested in what a patient has to say. Takes the time after an exam and an explanation of her diagnosis to ask if you have any other questions. Promptness, of course, depends on the time and day of your visit. If the waiting room is full and a good doctor is spending time with patients, I'm sure at some point I'll have to wait. This visit was not one of them..

I like my doctor very much. she helped me more than any other doctor at Kaiser.
