Dr. Harald Lausen, DO

I have been seeing Dr Lausen for a few years now. He is somewhat difficult to get an appt with because he is an instructor for SIU School of Medicine.I have had some difficult health problems which he has diagnosed and taken proper care of. He is extremely tolerant of my need to know everything about what is going on and is willing to spend the necessary time explaining in every respect.One has to understand that since SIU Family Practice is associated with SIU Medical School, patients are often bounced around among the various doctors. I really hated this and told them I would see Dr Lausen only or I would go elsewhere. I want my doctor to actually KNOW me. I WAS accomodated graciously and only see other doctors in last minute or "need attention now" situations. This is acceptable.Also, his nursing staff is terrific. My last visit was a "needs attention now" situation, so I saw a very good and different doctor on staff (Dr Cain). The next day, Dr Lausen's nurse called me to… make sure I was doing okay! Now, that's the type of care I want and expect. I am happy to call Dr Lausen my primary care physician!
