Dr. Harold Gene Cohen, MD

Based upon the majority of comments regarding this person he should have had his license revoked long ago, because his abusive conduct appears to border on malpractice.

My gosh where do I begin. I used to go to this doctor in the 80s when he was in Sugarland Texas. he was by far the worst doctor I've ever encountered in any field. he was verbally abusive to his staff and rude to me borderline abusive to me. one time it was really late at night and this was 30 years ago so I don't remember what the issue was but I do remember he had to meet me at the hospital and do an exam and he was really angry. My sister came with me and during the exam he told my sister that I told him I smoked pot. My sister knew thank God but what about doctor patient confidentiality. he was just boiling mad about having to be there. He said I had a mass. I did not. I did not want to have children ever I was sexually abused child and very messed up and knew it and did not think I would make a good parent. I'm glad because 30 years later looking back it was the right decision. Anyway I accidentally got pregnant. Again I was a messed up kid okay. I needed to have a procedure… I had been his patient for a good 5 years. I asked for a recommendation he said look it up in the Yellow Pages. Oh my God he was such a condescending arrogant a****** I had the procedure and they told me to follow up with my doctor. for some stupid reason I went back to him for a follow-up and he said what are you doing here? How dare he pass off his effing judgemental male b******* on me. it seems like he's been run out of town. I am so glad I found this review site because I've been wanting to get this off my chest for years. There was more that he did to me but I won't go into it because you wouldn't believe it. Don't go to this doctor he goes by H Gene Cohen or Gene Cohen is a sort little fart. Arrogant and ugly inside and out I hope he has to work at McDonald's. Ha take that Gene

does Somebody knows what he was sued for?

Beware of this individual. He is the party to numerous lawsuits going back decades. Also his transient nature makes one ask, "What, or whom is he dodging?" Moving from Sugarland, TX; to Fort Hood, TX; to Killeen, TX; to Texarkana, TX; to West Houston Medical Center; to Lafayette, LA; and now Tacoma, WA is highly unstable for a so called practitioner. Most decent physicians maintain a consistent location. These movements & lawsuits appear to fail the "smell test."

Great Dr. - Great experience.

This dictir is arrogant and treats you like you are a child.I was a 37 yr old mom with 2 children and a 3 on the way. During the birth him and my husband were not even on speaking terms.He kept on threatening me if I do not like what he says i must find another doctor.Eventually it did get so bad that that is what i ended up doing and then he called to say that is his way of saying i need to follow his orders.When I was five months along he called me on a road trip and threaten to call CPS because I am putting my baby in danger and was not allowed to leave sugarland.when I finally had the baby the nurses told em nobody wanted to be my nurse because he treated them so badly.When I told mey new OB/Gyn who the previous one was he said say no more.we all know that obnoxious man.

Stay clear. I have 3 kids. He delivered the 3rd. Worst experience of my life!!

Dr. Cohen delivered 2 of our 4 children. Had we known him earlier, he would have delivered all of them! Although Dr. Cohen was busy, I never felt like he was rushing. He always took the time to listen to my concerns, and he took the time to carefully explain his diagnoses. I wish he were still in practice. I'd have no reservations about giving him and his staff the highest recommendation.

Dr. Cohen delivered 2 of my 3 children and I regret that I didn't have him deliver the 3rd one. He's a great doctor and I wish he was still in practice. I just found out that I"m pregnant with my 4th and also just found out that he has retired. Was just surprised to see anything other than positive comments about him, as I found him to be very professional and pleasant. And truly the most thorough physician I've ever had.

Watch out for this individual. He has a stream of medical malpractice lawsuits dating back to the 1990s in both Harris & Fort Bend Counties. He hides this by sometimes going by Harold Cohen & others as Gene Cohen, or sometimes H Gene Cohen.
