Although Dr. Frazier is one of the most experienced practitioners of Da Vinci robotic surgery, I did not feel that he in any way pushed that option on me. He laid out all the options for treating prostate cancer, answered all my questions, and let the facts guide me to a decision. Having made the decision to opt for surgery, I was very much at peace with it because I felt that I was in great hands. I was slightly apprehensive about getting the surgery at GW versus going up the road to Hopkins, but, at the end of the day, the skill and experience of the surgeon is the most important consideration and I felt confident that there are surgeons who may be his equal but probably none better. My experience through the whole surgical process bore out that my confidence was well-placed. I have also found that Dr. Frazier displays a genuine empathy for his patients.

I highly recommend Dr Harold A. Frazier, a first rate surgeon as well as a compassionate and caring professional. Dr Frazier is supported by a seasoned professional team at the George Washington University (Medical Faculty Associates) that assists in preparing for surgery and in coping during the recovery period. Being diagnosed with prostrate cancer is traumatic and nerve-wracking, and the treatment options are complicated to assess. I could not have been better guided through the journey of dealing with my diagnosis, choosing the right treatment for myself â?? i.e. surgery, and the recuperation process. Knowing that I was in the best possible hands made the process smoother than I had ever hoped for.

Of all the doctors I have known in my life (of 66 years) Dr. Frazier ranks at the top. Besides all the attributes of experience, education and his position at GWU, he personifies my vision of a true doctor - professional, courteous, compassionate and one of the nicest guys I have had the good fortune to meet. He put my wife and me at ease during our first appointment to discuss diagnosis/treatment and that feeling of confidence and being at ease has not changed. My surgical outcome (removal of my prostate via DiVinci robotics) exceeded my expectations and his care/compassion during follow-up visits has been a real asset to my full recovery. After 15 months since my surgery, I am pleased to say I have fully recovered my pre-op capabilities. I have recommended Dr. Frazier to several of my contemporaries and continue to sing his praises. To anyone who is reading this review, I strongly recommend you contact Dr. Frazier's office and get an appointment - you will be very glad you did.

My biggest thanks to the entire operating team of Dr Frazier's for saving my life. I have a rubbing alcohol allergy which all my previous Doctors either did not recognize or told me to ignore. When I passed out in Pre-OP, the entire staff help revive me, and they told me that while I was passed out my Heart Beat dropped to 30 beats/min. They then banned rubbing alcohol for me and asked me to never let anyone use rubbing alcohol on me again. The entire team has respected this ban while in the hospital and in all follow up visits. This knowledge is saving my life, because I now realized that rubbing alcohol had previously caused me to have an "out of body" experience. On Dr Frazier himself, I have always got along well with him and I had no problems with the prostate removal surgery or follow up visits. I would recommend his team to anyone.

When I was diagnosed with prostate cancer, my urologist recommended two potential surgeons for a radical prostatectomy. After extensive research, I decided to see Dr. Frazier. At the first visit, Dr. Frazier was very detailed, giving me all my options, and explaining the pros and cons of each. He gave me many details about robotic surgery, including the risks and complications of surgery, and follow-up expectations after surgery, and addressed all of my and my wife's questions and concerns. I was keen to have the surgery as soon as possible, and Dr. Frazier was sensitive to my concerns and very accommodating. Before the surgery, we were totally satisfied, and by the time we left the office, he had scheduled a surgery date.On the day of surgery, Dr. Frazier came to see me and my family before the surgery and gave us a sense of what to expect. The surgery took a long time, and when Dr. Frazier was finished, he went to speak with my wife and daughters with great compassion. The care at… George Washington University Hospital - pre-operative and post-operative - was excellent, and I was grateful to the staff for their attentiveness.The post-operative care and follow-up that Dr. Frazier provided was excellent.I consider myself very lucky that Dr. Frazier has been my doctor. I have already recommended him to a friend and will continue to recommend him as a doctor with highest praise. Dr. Frazier is the best and patients will greatly benefit from seeing him for prostate cancer.

Absolutely one of the best surgeons I have ever come across and has an excellent bedside manner. Most importantly, he listens to the patient.

Diagnosed by Dr Frazier for prostate cancer, given treatment options and chose robotic surgery removal. Surgery at GW Hospital delayed 4 hours due to complications of first prostate surgery of the day. Resulted in 4 hour delay in recovery room getting a hospital room 9:30 pm at night. I feel Dr Frazier was exhausted and drained from his first surgery and my surgery was compromised. NOT A GOOD EXPERIENCE! Post-op follow up appointments were hard to schedule. Dr Frazier told me my incontinence and impotence would improve but 2 years later no improvement whatsoever! Dr Frazier gave me HOPE but no CHANGE in my post-op. I do not believe my nerves were spared in this "nerve sparing" surgery. He down played significance of my post-op problems and did not give me options other than kegel exercises which DO NOT WORK. Injections and other treatments were not implemented. I do not beleive Dr Frazier gave me the attention I deserved as a patient to resolve my post-op issues. I finally gave up… went to another urologist that offered me other treatments that have helped impotence. I chose a urologist in DC because I thought the medical treatment would be better but I was wrong. Also, would NEVER have surgery at GW Hospital ever again! This has caused me emotional distress and other physical ailments for 2 years because of the lack of competent follow up treatments and rehab. Needless to say I cannot recommend Dr Frazier to anyone based on my personal experiences.

Fantastic team approach within Dr. Frazier's office as well as George Washington University Hospital. The whole urology group both office and hospital is as professional as it gets!One can see that all these nurses in both the office and hosptial are so well trained and can handle any situation. The bottom line... they care for you like you're family, that says it all. It's not a perfect world and things go wrong, but at least you know from the moment you start your surgical experience you're in great hands.I highly recommend this urology team and hosptial to everyone!
