Dr. Harris Roberts Fender Jr, MD

Exceptional care from Karen, Office Manager, and Dr. Fender. The first person you talk with, unfortunately, is always the one who has to be the recipient of your own feelings about your diagnosis. I was still in shock learning I had breast cancer and Karen's attitude and helpfulness was immediately appreciated. She had everything ready and confirmed I would be in great hands with Dr. Fender. She was absolutely correct! Dr. Fender met with myself and my family and patiently explained in detail the diagnosis, the process, and had already set up my appointment with Dr. Usrey, oncologist, on the same day. I did not have to do anything but show up! I am incredibly thankful for starting this journey with Karen and Dr. Fender. In addition, as soon as my report came back, I immediately received a telephone call from Dr. Fender. If I could give higher than 5 stars, I would!

I was directed to Dr. Fender by another physician in the same field of expertise. This physician's wife was treated by Dr. Fender, for a similar condition, one year prior to my diagnosis. Dr. Fender has an amazing way of relaying pertinent/relevant information in a precise and professional manner and at the same time is down to earth and caring. This is all in addition to his excellent surgical skills! The review doesn't stop here. The office staff, Karen, goes above and beyond the call of duty when it comes to the patients. She makes sure that you have all necessary information, forms, directions, telephone numbers, etc. for every step of your surgical journey. AND she even makes an extra effort to have multiple appointments scheduled on the same day to try and cut down on patients travel days. She makes herself available to answer any questions and, even after being released from care, she welcomes you back for coffee and a chat anytime. I highly recommend Dr. Fender, his… staff, and his medical/surgical team to anyone needing surgical care and treatment.

I thought Dr. Fender was excellent. He was recommended to me from a friend. I had no problem with the receptionist at all, I actually thought she was very patient.

He's a good doctor, but his receptionist (or whatever she is - she's the only one in the office with him) is the rudest person ever. She is consistently rude - not just a one time thing. If he weren't so good, I would NEVER use him or refer anyone to him because of how rude she is.
