Dr. Harrison Szeming Chau

Unfortunately, a hernia surgery that was performed on me in March 18th at Stanford was a seemingly a wrong-site surgery "never event". I came into Stanford Health Care with a lump above and to the left of my belly button, which after having a 2nd corrective surgery, turned out to be a 4.0cm lipoma. This unfortunately was not the site where the surgery on March 18th occurred (an ultrasound showed a much smaller umbilical hernia, which is the site that Dr. Chau operated on, and ignoring the lump that I originally came into Stanford Health Care for). As mentioned earlier, I then needed to have a 2nd corrective surgery for the lipoma. It's honestly hard for me to believe what happened as I am writing this, but I hope this review helps someone in the future. This mistake was not made purposefully, but had Dr. Chau or anyone on his team reviewed my previous appointments regarding this issue, this most likely would not have happened.
