Dr. Harry Gerhart Smith

Dr. Smith performed surgery on my right shoulder 3 years ago. He repaired a tear and removed a bone spurr that was causing the tear. He did an excellent job. The healing and mobility of my shoulder was so good that I did not need PT after surgery. Three years later, I still have full mobility and no shoulder pain. Highly recommend.

I had a bad break on my wrist due to a fall at work. What should have been a modest surgery with 2 pins inserted to hold the bones together while they healed turned into 22 surgeries over a 9 year period of time. I now have MRSA, no use of my right wrist period and have been left with a permanant disability which halted my promising career and left me no possibility for employmnent the rest of my life. I lost my job, my home, my car, my marriage and many years spent in and out of hospitals which took away from my children's lifes. The final straw came the last time my wrist broke yet again.For 8 months I walked around with my wrist broken and getting worse making the possibility of any use of it narrowing closer to zero everyday, in constant pain all the while I was being led on to believe that consultation with others in the field were in the works for a permanent new surgical procedure was nearing the end. My last appointment with Dr. Smith, I was told that there was nothing else… he could do for me, sorry I've was put on hold for 8 months, but this doctor I am referring you too might be able to help, maybe. But you'll probably lose your hand. When the new surgeon I went to see saw my records, he was syspathic to my pain and at first did not even want to put me through another surgery, yet alone one that was a 50/50 shot, and put my life at risk in general. He spent 60 days researching and finally he and I came up with a plan and together with an incredible team, in one surgery, my wrist was but back together. No I will never have use of it, but I can write my name now, I can drive my car (not for long trips), I'm still in pain, butI still have my hand. One surgery after 21 surgeries, that's all it took. My life has been emtionally devastating due the unnessarry procedures, incorrect repairs taken, and my life shoved on the back burner while glory was all that appeared to matter for him.

Dr. Smith performed surgery on both my shoulders. I had previously seen two other specialists prior to Dr. Smith and I'm happy to have chosen him.He is very easy to communicate with, extremely caring and professional. I am normally very hard to impress when it comes to medical stuff, but could not have been happier with the treatment from Dr. Smith. His office staff is also excellent.

Dr. Smith is a wonderful, caring doctor who truly cares for his patients. His staff are terrific and work well with patients and other staff in front of patients. He has done multiple surgeries on me and my husband with all having great results.
