Dr. Harvey B Pats, MD

A person that treats people in pain like their crazy or their idiots is a person that shouldn't be treating people with chronic pain. If you're in pain from a severe type of Neuropathy, then you should DEFINITELY Avoid Dr Pats. All I went there for was to ask some questions and instead of listening to me, he was more worried about closing up his office because of a thunderstorm, he was laughing at me when I talked about my prescribed pain medicine that I was taking, he assumed because I'm in pain and taking a narcotic that I'm a drug addict. He had none of my medical information , his desk look like a child's computer desk and he admitted that he knew very little about my small fiber neuropathy condition since it's a rare condition (yea no DUH Sherlock) but yet, he was treating me like I should be fine and he still wanted to prescribe me medicine without ever looking at my medical charts, X-rays, MRIs or any of the many visits I had that are fully documented. How to you… prescribe medicine for a well documented condition without ever looking at the medical records? He is not to be trusted as I told him directly I don't want your medicine because I don't trust you. His office should be boycotted and shunned from our community.

I decided to switch practices for something closer to home, and Dr. Pats showed up on my insurance website. The receptionist was very nice and easily found a day that would work for me. She told me I would need an EEG prior to the appointment. I asked why because my seizures are well controlled, I haven't had one in well over 10 years, and my last two providers didn't see reasons for me to have them done. I was transferred to his nurse who very rudely told me people with epilepsy are a "risk to society". If I wanted to be seen at this office, this was how they do it so they aren't coming in "blind". I explained I am well controlled, I have no issues, and she began to talk loudly over me saying "This is how we do things, if you want to be a new patient you have to do it. Do you want the appointment or not?" I apologized saying I didn't mean to offend her, as I was just curious. I decided to cancel the appointment. 1. I haven't even met the doctor and they want to do testing. 2. If the… office staff is that rude during the first phone call, no thank you. I don't recommend this office solely based on the staff.

Dr. Pats is an excellent neurologist. He understands the value in listening to his patients and actually does a physical exam. I highly recommend Dr. Pats!

Dr. Pats is friendly and jokes with patients to put them at ease. But, make no mistake about his ability to make the correct assessments, order the proper tests and determine what a patient's problem may be. I also respect him for referring difficult cases to other specialists. I have complete confidence in his judgement and professional acumen. I highly recommend Dr. Pats.

I've seen a few Neurologists, and they didn't treat me with the attention that I believe any patient deserves. Dr. Pats is very caring, attentive, thorough, and willing to discuss anything without the feelings that he's trying to just give you meds and get you out of the office. All-in-all a very good experience.

I have had a rare chronic pain disease since I was a child. I've been flairing for 3+ yrs now. I've seen many Dr.'s, gone through many procedures, fought many critics, and shed many tears. I know my disease...I know my pain...I know my body. When my new pain mgmt Dr. ref. me to Dr. Pats for an evaluation, I thought great here we go again! I could not have been more wrong! He didn't discredit my CRPS, he didn't write off my pain. He looked at me, acknowledged I was a real person, who wanted their life back, and that right now he didn't have the answers. But he would do everything that he could do to find them. I usually do not posts to medical sights, giving an "opinion" of a visit. I also do not recommend doctors. I highly recommend Dr. Pats. I wish I would have found him sooner.

I was very impressed with Dr Pats. He was quite the character but was serious when he had to be. I had to have a nerve conduction test which was quite painful but he put me at ease right away. I highy recommend Dr Pats to anyone who needs a neurologist.
