Dr. Hassan Alkhateeb, MD

Dr. Alkhateeb's may have expertise in his field but his approach to patient care is overly aggressive and heartless! Felt like I was in the principles office while he slammed his fist against the desk over and over saying, "If you don't follow my every direction, I can't work with you at first appointment. Then kept slamming his fist on the desk in front of his nurse in the direction of me with no reason for doing so. I've had 20 years of stellar history at Mayo Rochester, MN and was in absolute shock of the two doctors I was moved to because my long time transplant physician Dr. Litzow retired from patient care, who was wonderful to work with! Dr. Alkhateeb's refused to listen to my own 20 years of experience of what Dr. Litzow and I had tried to figured out along the way. No, it was cut and dry, as he said "that was then this is now, Litzow is gone" I said Litzow is not my concern but you must listen to our attempts to handed such a complicated history. I'm an engineer type mindset,… so I was open to trying anything and everything many times. He said you don't have GVHD anymore, so need to get you off all these drugs. I said hold on, we've tried these things and GVHD flares and I end up on ER with whole digestive GVHD system locked up which places pressure on my chronic kidney disease and congestive heart failure. Explained it happens between 3-4 months. I finally agreed to do so and thus 3+ months I ended up in ER, where it had placed so much pressure on my kidneys that damaged them more and also further damaged my heart according to Abbott Northwestern Heart Institute. My new doctor in Minneapolis fellowed under my previous long time doc Dr. Litzow and agreed with my assessment of Mayo BMT department issues, so there is more but thus is just on Dr. Alkhateeb's. He's insulting, bullies and degrades patient knowledge immediately! I went from a stellar history with Mayo of 20+ years to can't get on the phone without cussing them out, the departments treatment was that bad. Not a moment of listening do they do and clear Mayo Legal runs Mayo post VID19 nonsense because seemingly they are under huge legal threats do to the VID19 hoax.... Once you reveal to doctors, nurses or staff, you won't take vaxes anymore most go on about what a hoax it was but they still have to offer these toxic shots. When legal takes over is where the abuse started!

Dr. Alkhateeb was my husband's doctor, and oversaw his stem cell transplant for MDS. He has received several awards, including number one in patient experience at Mayo in 2021. My husband and I found out why. From the outset, Dr Alkhteeb was very thoughtful and judicious in determining the best treatment plan for my husband's specific condition and skillfully oversaw the process so that my husband had the best chance of going through the procedure with as few complications as possible. He directs a team of handpicked providers, and every single one of them was thoughtful, curious, attentive, and of course, highly knowledgeable.We did not encounter a single person who was indifferent or dismissive. Not one. It was absolutely top shelf care, and my husband did very well. I'm so very grateful that Dr. Alkhateeb was our provider, and he and his team will be there for us in the future.

Dr. Alkhateeb has been the worst doctor that I have met during my MDS diagnosis. He acted like he didn't if I lived or died. Asked about medical trials if things didn't go as planned, and he just shrugged his shoulders. Would not recommend for anyone.
