Dr. Hayne Douglas Mcmeekin, MD

The BEST psychiatrist in the area. I had been under his care for about 12 years.

I am so grateful to be a patient of Dr. McMeeken. For the first time in my life I feel I can find peace even when facing challenging times in life. For so many years I struggled with doctors giving me countless medication combinations but didn't have a diagnosis. I felt defeated however, I took a leap of faith and consulted with Dr. McMeeken, Immediately I could tell he was different than the rest. He wasn't trying to box me into a diagnosis and give me a one size fits all medication combo. He talked with me and learned about who I am. He assured me every patient is unique and vastly different in dynamics from genetics to hormones and so on. He then explained because of that each persons treatment is unique as well. He has treated me based on my dynamics for the last 5 + years and I am living, truly living happy.

My wife has been seeing Dr. Mcmeekin for over 20 years. He has saved her life. His prescription knowledge exceeds anyone that we have worked with. We worked for years to get a correct diagnosis and correct care plan before finding Dr. Mcmeekin. I could not recommend anyone higher.

... prescribes medication too liberally. I agree with the person's comments above. Use your own judgement, when taking the prescribed medication. I'm wondering if there some kind of benefits from big pharma or something. Just saying.

I agree with the others on here that say Dr. McMeekin overprescribes very serious medications very liberally without directly addressing the risks. Go to see Dr. McMeekin if you want to become a accidental drug addict and dependent on prescription medications. I did not realize how bad things were until I almost lost my mind and sought out help from another psychiatrist to safely taper off the medication (without risk of seizures, etc.) It was a nightmare for me.

Dr. McMeekin is very intelligent and does not push multiple medications. He is very much on the cutting edge of new medications, interacxtions and side effects. He responds to side effect with speed and accuracy. He genuinely cares about the patient and their delicate mental balance. He listens intently without judgement. HE is patient, kind and considerate. Not your typical Physician. He is laid baroach and makes you feel at ease and "heard". I give my highest recommendation of this man. He has strong integrity.

Dr Mc Meekin has always assisted me whenever necessary.He is honest and thorough and very well versed in his field.

This doctor makes inexcusable mistakes. He forgot my name, forgot to prescribe a medicine before I left. He called it into the wrong pharmacy when I personally gave him the correct phone number. When he finally did call it in to the right place he did not call it in correctly. He needs to lose his license due to so many dumb mistakes, especially in such an important field!!!

For (in my case) PTSD & other related anxiety disorders, Dr. McMeekin is *clearly* knowledgeable, personally interested and understanding, took the needed time to get up to speed on my past history and I was pleasantly surprised.
