Dr. Heather Kay Bacala, MD

My prescription of Estradiol was attempted to auto-refill by Walgreens in which Dr. McLemore’s office denied my refill. I attempted to call his office, requesting a refill of this important medication I take daily. I was denied and told I needed to schedule an appointment and see the doctor in order to obtain a refill of my hormonal replacement therapy medication. The appointment desk has yet to call me back to schedule, and I’m being denied access to this crucial medication until I’m able to see Dr. McLemore. This medication is for hormonal replacement since undergoing a hysterectomy. This medication helps with things like brain fog, painful *down there* dryness, and hot flashes. I can’t fathom why there’s not a better system in place to give warning of upcoming appointment requirements prior to denying such important medication refills. The staff I’ve spoken to care very little about my lack of hormonal replacement therapy medication, nor seem to be in a hurry to schedule me. I… feel absolutely helpless in my female body. I believe this office loves collecting the high income from delivering babies, but this is not the place for women who have moved to the next phase of femininity.

I am thrilled to have found Dr. Bacala! She’s extremely knowledgable, friendly and made me feel at ease. She was able to diagnose some concerns that I had whereas my last ob/gyn dismissed them all. Her office is absolutely beautiful and clean. It was the most pleasant gyn visit I’ve had in 20 years.

My experience with Dr. Bacala and Dr. McLemore was not what I imagined it to be. I’ve done extensive research to find the best obgyn in Las Vegas to deliver my second child and came across Heather Bacala due to the high reviews. I had a total of 12 prenatal appointments and met her about 2 times. She didn’t get to know me on a personal level and I felt blindsided. When Dr. McLemore joined the office, I was told he would be the night time delivery Doctor and Dr. Bacala would be the daytime delivery Doctor, which was not what I signed up for... I came to the hospital to only find out that neither one of them would be there to deliver my baby. She came to the hospital moments after my baby was born and left 2 minutes shortly after and that was the last time I will be seeing her. My whole birthing experience was a disaster with these doctors and nothing like it was with my first at Summerlin Hospital. She didn’t know nothing about me and I did not get that connection like I hoped. Shannon,… the nurse at the office, was phenomenal to say the least. She’s the only reason I stayed with those doctors for as long as I did. UPDATE: After posting this review and my experience, I received a call from Dr. Bacalas office concerning my review. They HARRASSED me, claiming my delivery went “perfectly” and that Dr. Bacala was present and involved in my delivery and recovery, which is false. I tried to get the lady to understand my side but she wouldn’t let it go and made me cry. What a wonderful way to treat mothers who are in the postpartum stage. You weren’t there so please do not try to justify things or try to “make it right”. You only can give birth once to that child and what’s done is done. Horrible staff (except Shannon). I had to resort to blocking the office considering the harassment. UPDATED UPDATE: After digesting what had happened to me with this doctor, I have come to realization the reason she did not want to deliver my baby was because she sent a drug test out with my lab work that needed to be done and I was positive for marijuana. (Keep in mind I have had hyperemesis gravidarum with both kids and that caused me to lose a significant amount of weight during pregnancy). SHE REPORTED ME to the hospital and staff and to CPS that I am a drug user and my spouse was BEATING on me. Do your research and EDUCATE yourself without the help of Dr. Google, Heather Bacala. I had more nurses AND doctors that were there while i was giving birth tell me there was nothing wrong with marijuana and there are no long-term side effects on baby. They also said taking the pills was more harmful to the baby to treat the nausea. CAPITALISM AT ITS FINEST.

I have never met such a caring doctor that actually sits there, listens and helps. The office looks updated and is so beautiful! Every time I go in, she always asks about my daughter (which she was there for). I have seen 3 outside doctors during pregnancy and she was the only one I felt comfortable with and confident. The office has a lab in office, an ultrasound tech and all. It is a spacious and equipped office that is ready for everything. All the ladies there are nice and friendly as well.

I was diagnosed in 2017 with uterine fibroids. Dr. Bacala was great, I ended up beta very difficult case. In spite of being plagued with lots of complications she seen me all the way though to the finish line. Great job, Dr. Bacala!!!!!!

So just today...after I wrote my original review, in the mail came bills from the lab for my tests because they were also not given any of my insurance information...or my SSN....they said they put my phone number for my SSN !! See what I mean....stay away !!

My first visit as a referral from my PC due to a bad Pap. I waited a while and they told me she was delivering a baby and said about 20 minutes late which I said fine....1 hour and 25 minutes later I was still waiting. I rescheduled. My next visit, met with the Doctor she explained that she needed to do a test....got my insurance approval then did the test and I left. 10 days later I get a bill for the entire visit....including a charge for a urine test that I did not have. I called my insurance and they said they never received anything from her....I called the office and they told me to call her billing department. I said they should take care of that since I provided all my insurance to them at my first visit but they told me that it's my problem to contact them. I reiterated that I provided all my information to them so obviously they didn't pass it on as they should and they just said it's not their problem and I have to call myself or pay them. I will never… return there for the way I was treated....both times I was there the office girls were too busy giggling and playing around to assist anyone with anything so I can see how they run things. Save yourself ladies....this provider is not interested in helping only collecting money for things she doesn't even do....that's fraudulent billing isn't it ???? I'll make sure my PCP knows not to recommend her to anyone else. And one more thing, good luck getting them to answer the phone....rings and rings and rings....Good luck is you still go to her....I'm sure not going back.
