Dr. Heather Anne Laughridge

Our experience started out strong. During pandemic, we had multiple occurrences of our child's appts being cancelled hours before on the day of. We tried to hang in there and this would happen over and over. Things got better for a bit but now they are starting again and appts are being cancelled without notice. This is not feasible for the consistency we need for our child. Once again, initially we were very impressed and felt she gave insight that no one ever had. If our child can't see her, it doesn't matter what insight she has. We are disappointed.

Dr. Laughridge treated my daughter for about 2 years. My daughter’s issues continued and somewhat worsened. Dr. L’s response was to just up the dose each time. She also told her that the meds at that dose would make her feel numb. Why would she say that? This made my daughter stop taking the meds. Instead of asking why she stopped taking meds, she just upped the doses again. The doctor frequently canceled appointments and for past year, would only meet on zoom. Pandemic is over…see patients in person! She comes across as very disinterested and not easy to talk to. We found another doctor and finally, my daughter is on the right track. New meds and things are 100% better. Avoid this doctor at all cost!

I figured I’d leave a comment since it’s usually only disgruntled people that do. Dr. Laughridge has been a godsend in my life. And i seriously don’t know where I’d be without her and her knowledge.

Our daughter was a patient of Dr. Laughridge for about 18 months. She constantly cancelled appointments at the last minute, we often had to reschedule 2-3 times before she was actually in the office and would see her. Med refills were hit or miss - sometimes she approved them quickly and other times it took 2 weeks. Our daughter has multiple disorders and goes through phases of not being med compliant. Instead of stressing the need for her to take the meds, Dr. Laughridge told her she wouldn't issue any more refills since it was a waste of money. That wasn't her place to say that, and after 2 months of no meds, we had to commit her to a facility for a week to get stabilized. I don't know if she was trying to teach a lesson in a very weird way but it definitely didn't work. I tell everyone to avoid this doctor. Her patient's health is not important to her at all. (I have a friend who also took her daughter to Dr. Laughridge and she had the same experience. This is not an… isolated case by any means.)

We have a lot going on in our family. We have some bad and some good with a separation, and an adopted son with hyperactive ADHD that we want to care for and help manage through this time. Dr. Laughridge has been great in recommending steps forward. In addition, she has provided equal counsel to both parents despite the tough situation of a separation. I greatly appreciate all that the office is doing to help us navigate this tough time in life.

The doctor seemed distracted and somewhat disinterested when talking to my son. When the medication he was prescribed made him ill, I contacted the office (by phone and email) to get advice/make another appointment and didn't get a response for 4 days.
