Dr. Heather Maureen Lewerenz, MD

Dr. Lewerenz is the warmest and most briliant psychiatrist. She is nonjudgmental, empathetic, down-to-earth,and caring. She does not live to diagnose, pathologize or medicate recklessly. She is an angel sans wings.

I was very impressed with Dr. Lewerenz. I had heard that many psychiatrists will spend only 10 or 15 minutes with patients will just write prescriptions without taking the time to do a full history. Dr. Lewerenz spent at least an hour with me, asking many detailed questions (and actually listening carefully to my answers) as well as offering helpful and intelligent insights. She really shed a lot of light on how ADD affects many aspects of my life, not just the usual work/school issues. She is approachable, caring, and extremely knowledgeable about the complexities of psychiatric and pharmacological treatments. She doesn't take insurance, but she promptly sends you a letter with all of the codes you need to submit to your insurance company for out-of-network doctor visits. My deductible is too high to actually use it, but I feel the money is well-spent anyway. To add to all of that, she gets right back to you when you call or email for an appointment, or if you have questions! I had an… initial insurance-related problem at the pharmacy and she took care of it right awayand this was after 8 PM. I couldn't be more pleased.
