I enjoy being an educator, support person and advocate for my patients. Helping patients and families process complex information and understand how genetics can play a unique role in their health is very rewarding. I also enjoy the relationships I build with patients and families.
I always knew I wanted to work in the healthcare industry. After learning about genetic counseling in high school, I knew it was the right career for me.
As a genetic counselor, I get to learn something new every day. I am challenged with staying on top of this ever-changing field while coming up with innovative and thoughtful ways to convey information to patients and colleagues. As much as patients have learned from me, I have also learned from my patients.
