Dr. Heather A Mcgowan, MD

Dr. Heather Mcgowan is a great doctor. Unfortunately, her staff are lazy and they don’t address your concerns to the doctor immediately. It took them days to complete form that can only be completed not even 5 minutes. Very disappointed with the staff.

My son has been a patient at Dr. McGowan office for quite some time now. I also was baffled by the fees for completion of forms. The long drawn out response commenting specifically to the review about fees is most likely a staff or friend of Dr. McGowan as it is totally biased. First off, the comparison to paper & ink is irrelevant as the forms I received were hand-written. Secondly, I have my dr., as well as specialty doctors and there are NEVER any fees for completion of forms. While I was never charged for a form, I was required to acknowledge that there would be fees for additional forms at my most recent visit. My issue however is with the wait time which is generally over an hour for most visit, which makes schedule appointments pointless if you have to wait for so long. Dr. McGowan is a good dr. in my opinion and that is the only reason why I continue to wait the extended wait times. She is very friendly, takes time with patients, and very attentive. The staff is not necessarily… rude but they are not as friendly as you would expect in a pediatric office. Also follow-ups after visits would be nice.

While I respect the rights to each individuals opinion, my experiences with the staff as a whole have been pleasant and accommodating. I'm a bit confused where the issue of payment for documents come in to play. I can only say that when I have to refill an ink cartridge or purchase paper for my home computer, it's pretty costly. You also have a salary for a staff to take the time to provide these documents. The portion of your review stating Dr. McGowan is a great doctor is on point . If I am looking for a doctor for my child I'm not going to complain about standard fees. Village Pediatrics is also a business that is entitled to cover their overhead and turn a profit. Again, we all have a right to our feelings and opinions and this is in no way is meant to demean your opinion, I just have had pleasant experienced with staff and to me they are always accomadating and great with the kids.

Now this place is horrible. I'm currently researching pediatricians in my area. The Dr.'s are great but the staff and new policies are far below average and absurd when compared to other Pediatric offices. They've recently enforced so many fees and charges for paperwork such as immunization record, form completion etc. They try to get extra money for everything from their patients. Again, I must mention Dr. McGowan is a great dr. but sadly the staff she has chosen is not very friendly or helpful. Forget about their willingness to work with parents. Not parent or kid friendly staff members. Forms are completed within 5 days. If you choose to have them print you a copy of any forms already completed within a year you must pay $10 out of pocket. Definitely not a family friendly doctors office… anymore. Forget it. Just another headache for the average working parent. Expect to be treated like a customer not a patient if you choose Village Pediatrics as your child's pediatric office.

Dr. McGowan is a great pediatrician. I am a new Mom and when I went to see her, she took her time to answer all of my questions. She is very through, and handled m son with a gentle touch.

SEEMS A BIT RUDE ON THE PHONE WHEN ON CALL WHEN SPEAKING WITH HER ON THE PHONE IN GENERAL HER TONE AND THE WAY SHE SPEAKS SOUNDS VERY RUDE AS IF IT'S A BOTHER JUST CONTACTING HER

One of the best doctors I have ever encountered. When my daughther had a viral infection this summer, I called the office after hours and within one minute I was patched thru to Dr. Mcgowan. Always takes time to answer parents questions, very kind and gentle, my daughter loves her. Always up to date on the latest medical information/technology. She has alot of wisdom for such a young doctor. Great staff and appointments always available. Thank god we are lucky enough to have her as our daughters pediatrician !!!

We have been going to Dr. McGowan for about a year. I have two children under the age of 2. Heather is wonderful, smart, kind, and caring. I love her, she listens, is patient, answerings all my questions. She is the BEST!

When it comes to my children I need a doctor who is capable and kind-hearted and that's exactly what I found in this woman!Dr. McGowan is excellent at her job and a great person. I don't trust the care of my children to just anyone and Dr. McGowan has been terrific. I have the utmost confidence in her ability and would highly recommend her to EVERYONE!
