Dr. Heather Marie Murphy, MD

Sweet, professional and knowledgeable. I highly recommend her

We are long time patients of Garden State obgyn. I have two practitioners that I have seen on a frequent basis with wonderful bedside manner (Dr. Rosen anc Dr. Thau) This is the second time I have seen Dr. Murphy. My first appointment, she was close to 45 minutes late without a notice that she would be as late as she was. I was in my 9th month, she was very rushed, didn’t measure my belly wasn’t hands on, etc. For the next appointment, she was very rough in checking in my cervix and it was like pulling teeth to get her to check me. Overall, my husband and I were far from impressed. We have spent thousands in insurance with this practice, and Dr. Murphy’s bed side manner leaves less than to be desired. I would go with someone else who has been in the field longer and who’s bed side manner is little bit gentler.

I have seen many ob/gyn in my short life and this woman is the best of the best. She takes such care and answers all questions thoroughly. She and every doctor at the practice are incredible.

i am 11 weeks pregnant and was in the office this morning for a visit with dr. murphy- i was really upset with my visit today- - there was nobody else in the waiting room and all of the other exam rooms in the module were empty. she came into the room, introduced herself and asked if i had any questions- she immediatly performed the ultra sound- (at our last visit my husband and i were told that we would get to hear the heartbeat at our next visit)- the ultrasound lasted not even a minute- she turned the screen toward me for a second so i could see,which i could not.. and didnt even let us hear the heartbeat. i only think i heard it. we usually schedule our appointments early so that my husband, who goes into work late, can be part of the visit, he did not see or hear anything, she barely acknowledged his presence. She seemed like she was in such a rush to get out of the room, that i really feel like this was just a wasted appointment. i understand that this maybe something that she… does everyday, however, i dont get to come in to the office and see my baby every day. she gave us no explanation about how the baby looked or how the heartbeat was, just that, "its there". She absolutely needs to be schooled in bedside manner. I have been a patient here for years and never had such a bad experience.
