Dr. Heather Lynn Reese, MD

I went in to have a pap smear and she charge me for it, but never got the results. I also was charged for an issue appointment on the same day. It is posted all around the office that she will do that if you have a complaint. So consumer beware--if she asks are you having any pain (Monthly), you are supposed to lie so you don't get charged two appointments.

Releases patients for bizarre reasons. Even after years of established care. Do your homework. Read the reviews. Loved her at first. Got released 2 weeks after turning 41 for not getting a mammogram at 40. Mammograms before the age of 45 are controversial so it seems a little odd that I would be released for that reason. Most professionals use that as a last resort. Not as routine practice. Use caution.

Dr. Reese and her nurse were very rude and condescending. She wrote in my summary that she provided me with information but I didn’t receive any. Zero bedside manner, very rude, overcharges for visits based on false diagnoses, and refused to refill birth control, trying to push me into treatment I did not want and then said I was noncompliant. I have been going to her for years but will definitely be going elsewhere now. She and her staff are horrible. Nobody should ever make you feel this way, especially a female doctor regarding women’s health.

So is so compassionate and listens. So glad I found her!

Please avoid like the plague. This is the absolute worst Doctor and nurse I have EVER encountered. I had an abnormal pap and was called to schedule a colposcopy. I was told nothing about the side effects, procedure, or before process. Upon arrival I had to sign a waiver about the side effects. At this point, I had some questions. The nurse stated I was informed about everything on our phone call prior. I had her on speaker with my fiancé and we both agreed we were not informed. Nurse became extremely rude and told me she had notations that I was told the information. Nurse then called me forgetful. Dr. Reese then comes in and rudely states, “looks like we are turning this appointment into a consultation instead.” At this point I am visibly crying from the lack of information and disrespect. This DOCTOR proceeds to tell me I am a grown adult and should have called prior to ask questions about the procedure and side affects I was never informed of. She then told me she did not have time… for my appointment and we would reschedule. Then, I was charged 7.00 just to fax MY medical records to another ob.

I had been a patient of Dr Reese and was treated incredibly unprofessionally by her staff who had told me I had missed a test with her. I had requested to speak with Dr Reese and was told that would not be possible. I was diagnosed with cancer have been going through treatment at UVA and was given zero courtesy from both her office staff and her. I was made to feel like she was more concerned with the financial end of the practice rather than the medical.Was left totally speechless.

Dr. Reese is incredibly rude and cold. She was condescending, bossy and outright mean. The worst doctor I’ve been to, ever.

I called to request a refill on my prescription birth control and to inquire as to why it had been denied. I left a voicemail to request a call back from her office and never received any phone call for over 5 weeks. I called again because I needed my medication because I was leaving the country, and I was told I never got a call back because I was no longer a patient (which I was never informed about because their office doesn’t have the decency nor time) despite following up with all the procedures as requested. I can understand by law if I’m no longer a patient due to having a procedure in another state, but as someone who travels a lot in/out of the country for work, and needs to take their medication daily needs to be informed about this important information, instead of being rudely told I didn’t get a phone call back because I’m no longer a patient, and that it would be impossible for me to get a refill although Dr. Reese was fully aware of what I needed to do in order to follow… up with the tests requested. I now have to scramble to get an appointment with another doctor in order to get my medication before it runs out thanks to them. Word of advice, if you want prompt phone calls about your health (or any at all), definitely don’t go here. It takes them 6 weeks to even send out results of tests. I work in the medical field and I have never been spoken to/spoke to any patient of mine as rudely as they did to me.

Dr. Reese was very rude. She did not listen to what I had to say and was the worst doctor I have ever been to.
