Heather Waters, FNP-C

Heather Waters is a family nurse practitioner who believes that being a good listener is an important aspect of providing primary care.

"I listen to my patients and provide a safe, supportive ear," she said. "This builds a strong and trusting foundation to work from. I believe in working together to make realistic and achievable health goals."

Waters spent a decade as a bedside nurse, caring for surgical patients (before and after surgery), women's care patients and those undergoing special procedures.

These experiences inspired her to go into primary care.

"Working at the bedside showed me that many patients could potentially avoid being admitted into the hospital if they had thorough, high-quality primary care - taking care of the whole person, body and mind," she said.

Waters was born in Ohio and moved to Tucson as a baby. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Grand Canyon University and her Master of Science in Nursing - FNP from the University of Cincinnati.

Her …medical interests include family medicine, primary care for the LGBTQ+ community, well-woman care and management of anxiety and depression.

When she is not working, Waters enjoys spending time with her family and travel.
