Dr. Heidi Killefer, MD

My daughter was recently seen by Dr. Killefer at the Children's Urgent Care clinic at Village Pointe. Dr. Killefer provided calm and reassuring care for my daughter, who had cut herself on her thumb and required eight sutures. Dr. Killefer explained everything to my 11 year old about what she was going to be doing, allowed her to ask questions, and interjected humor into the situation to help my daughter feel at ease with the procedure. Follow up care was clearly explained and I was so impressed by not only Dr. Killefer's knowledge and expertise, but her ability to work with a child going through a traumatic experience and making it better.

This is the second encounter with this Dr in the urgent care and have again had a bad experience with her. The first time we visited her in Urgent Care she misdiagnosed my son. Today she held her hand up to my children and told them sternly, “Boys, be quiet.” I have three boys who I discipline in public if necessary and in this case they were voicing their concerns about what the Dr was going to do to their younger brother, not getting out of line! In my opinion it was not her place to tell my children to “be quiet” especially since she was talking about putting “dye” into my youngest. The older boys heard “dye” and misinterpreted it as “die” so for good reason it raised red flags and they quickly became protective and concerned.
