Dr. Heini Robin Rinderknecht

This doctor did not adequately follow the care of his 70 year old previous double breast cancer survivor patient, a 20+ year smoker. He failed to schedule regular follow up visits after taking her off her Tamoxifen. He failed to recognize the signs of the cancer having returned - signs which her family of non-medical backgrounds all recognized. Instead he belittled her and chastised her when she was brought to him, so sick that she wasn't keeping food down. He prescribed oral zantac for her and told her the reason she wasn't getting better was because she wasn't taking her medicine correctly. Long story short, when out of frustration with the lack of decency, competence, and compassion from Dr. Rinderknecht I took my mother-in-law to a different doctor for a second opinion, that doctor upon hearing her history and symptoms immediately ordered a chest x-ray...and lo and behold...the x-ray showed a large mass in her lung that turned out to be malignant - her previous cancer had… metastasized. She was gone from us within months. I believe Dr. Rinderknecht dropped the ball with my Mother-in-Laws care. Who knows what quality of life she may have had if she had been followed adequately by a competent, caring doctor from the start.
